    After a near-record breaking Country Aircheck Power Gold
Top 100 last August (CAW 9/7/21) – of which nearly a quarter
were new entries – the first list for 2022 swings in the opposite
                      direction with only three new entries and
                      relatively stable rankings across the board. Of
                      the 24 new entries on the previous edition, all
                      but three remain, indicating a high degree of
                      staying power.
                         Morgan Wallen’s “Whiskey Glasses”
                      debuted in the top spot in the last survey and
                      remains firmly in place. Seven other titles de-

                                                                   2015, marking the longest time a song has ever spent off the
                                                                   list between appearances. Luke Combs and Florida Georgia
                                                                   Line tie for second place, each placing six songs – also a repeat
                                                                   from last August.
                                                                         The Winter 2022 PG100 is composed of 35 male artists with
                                                                   72 songs, five groups with 11 songs and three women with six
                                                                   songs. Carrie Underwood is the only female to place multiple
                                                                   titles on the list and is also the highest-ranking female at No. 22
                                                                   with “Blown Away.” It should be noted that many of the biggest
                                                                   female hits of the past couple of years (e.g. Gabby Barrett’s “The
                                                                   Good Ones” and Maren Morris’ “The Bones”) are still classified as
                                                                   recurrents and are not yet eligible for the Power Gold list.
                                                                         Country Aircheck once again broke out the PG100 along
                                                                   ownership lines to analyze how different titles fare among different
                                                                   groups (see chart page 21). Last August, “Whiskey Glasses” was
                                                                   the only title to finish in the top four among each of the three
                                                                   largest station owners. This edition finds the title first among
                                                                   Audacy stations and second among iHeart stations, but it falls
                                                                   from fourth to 32nd among Cumulus stations. The only song to
                                                                   land in all three groups’ top 10 this edition is Sam Hunt’s “Body
                                                                   Like A Back Road.” Of the overall top 10, eight titles are also top
                                                                   10 among iHeart stations, only three are on Audacy’s top 10 and
                                                                   just one title (Hunt) is among Cumulus’ top 10.
                                                                         Seven songs have appeared on each of the 17 PG100s since it
                                                                   became a regular feature in 2009: Dierks Bentley’s “What Was
                                                                   I Thinkin’,” Kenny Chesney’s “I Go Back,” Billy Currington’s
                                                                   “Good Directions,” Rascal Flatts’ “Life Is A Highway,”
                                                                   Underwood’s “Before He Cheats,” Keith Urban’s “Somebody Like
                                                                   You” and Tim McGraw’s “Something Like That.” The latter also
                                                                   holds the distinction as the only release from the ‘90s to appear on
                                                                   this list. Honorable mentions go to Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken
                                                                   Fried” – which has placed in all 15 lists since becoming eligible
                                                                   and has yet to finish lower than No. 16 – and “Wagon Wheel” by
                                                                   Darius Rucker, which has finished in the top four in all 10 lists
