Entry into Polytechnic Through the Early Admission Exercise (EAE) The Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) is an aptitude-based admissions exercise that allows students to apply and receive conditional offers for admission to the polytechnics based on their aptitudes and interests, prior to receiving their final grades. It gives the polytechnics greater flexibility to select and admit students on criteria other than their academic grades, thus allowing a wider range of talents to be recognised. The polytechnics will consider students’ 1) abilities, strengths and interests in the specific courses that they have applied for 2) other outstanding talents and achievements, such as in sports, arts, leadership, entrepreneurship and community service *Each polytechnic has the discretion to determine its modes of assessment of students’ aptitude and interest, e.g. interviews, portfolios.
Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) Eligibility Criteria: For O-Level students: a. Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents who have registered to sit for the GCE O-Level Examination in the year of the EAE; and b. International Students enrolled in Government, Government-aided and Independent Schools during the year of the application, and who have registered to sit for the GCE O-Level Examination in the year of the EAE.
More info on JAE and EAE • Students who accept and confirm their EAE offers will not be able to participate in JAE. • Please refer to www.polytechnic.edu.sg for more info.
