ABOUT US
The Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat is an
Institute of National Importance and was established in
Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) mode in 2017 by the
Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of
India. The Government of Gujarat, Gujarat Narmada Fertilizer
Company Ltd, Gujarat Gas Ltd and Gujarat Informatics Ltd
agreed through a Memorandum of Understanding with
Government of India to be the partners in the
establishment and progression of the Institute.
The students are admitted through the JEE (Main). The
Institute is committed to the mission of delivering highly
competent graduate engineers who are enriched with
theoretical knowledge as well as hands-on experience in
Information and Communication Technologies. The B.Tech
curriculum is designed in such a way that students get
exposure to the latest trends in technology such as Artificial
Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Internet of
Things (IoT).
IIIT Surat strongly believes that industry-academia
engagement is instrumental in advancing research and
creating a skilled workforce. Therefore, the final year B.Tech
students of our institute are encouraged to pursue industry
internships for a period of 6 months during their eight
semester (Jan–June). This provides them the necessary
exposure to the industrial environment and makes them
ready for a good career in engineering. The Training and
Placement Cell at IIIT Surat provides a platform where the
recruiters and students can come together to explore the
avenues of a fruitful alliance.

DIRECTOR, IIIT SURAT
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Surat since its inception in 2017 has been
continuously striving and emerging as a center of excellence in multidimensional
domains of Information Technology in the country. The institute has evolved as a
preferred destination for aspiring students and hosts some of the finest brains in the
country. It continues to cater to the holistic approach of technical education and
molding its students as innovative technocrats of the future. Presently, we are
operating from the campus of SVNIT, an Institute of National Importance in Surat. Our
academic activities are time-synchronized with that of SVNIT and our students are
getting the best academic environment here.
Here at IIIT Surat, we emphasize to equip our students with exposure to the cutting
edge technology whether it's Data Science, Big Data, Cloud, Blockchain or
HighPerformance Computing. IIIT Surat is not only achieving milestones in the field of
Software but also continues its endeavor to pioneer as a leading institute in Hardware
and Fabrication technology in the Country.
The institute offers a diversified and flexible course curriculum featuring latest and
updated coursework suitable for research work and Industrial Training. The
Curriculum is designed with particular emphasis on the interdisciplinary and practical
approach towards technology. The curriculum not only immerses students in the
technical domain but also exposes to disciplines like Economics,
Business, Entrepreneurship and Humanities.

We, at DSC IIIT Surat, intend to build and
enhance development skills and knowledge
of students. It's a club where we learn and
create amazing stuff together with other
inquisitive developers and exhilarate
everyone to their core. Our motto is simple
Collaborate and Contribute to build solutions
for real-world problems and establish
yourself as a developer who has the mettle
to crack it all.
RUMINATE
Our entrepreneurship cell, Ruminate was
there in the Finals of NEC Entrepreneurship
Challenge organized by IIT Bombay among
700 teams. An interactive session on startup
was also conducted by Puneet Sharma, the
Founder of BugClipper. Overall all the
students have enthusiastically participated
in various events organized throughout the
year by different technical clubs.PLACEMENT

L.C.S
LCS has conducted various coding events
like Stranger codes, Algohours, etc. A
workshop on Competitive coding was also
conducted by Co-founder of Prepbytes Miss
Mamta Kumari. Our students have
participated in numerous hackathons
including INOUT, WMN, Angelhack and
represented the college at different
platforms like ICPC and Google Hash Code.
We are proud to inform that one of our
students got selected for the prestigious
Outreachy internship, adding another
feather to our cap.
ROBOTICS
The Official Robotics Cub of IIIT SURAT . We
are a diverse group of enthusiastic people
who loves to solve real life problems.

Society of Cultural
Affairs
The Students of SCA, the cultural club of
IIITSurat have constantly been participting in
various events organized by CHRD SVNIT
Surat to name a few, Music Trials,
Shamiyana, Unplugged, etc and have
outshined with their singing, dancing and
artistic skills.
True to the roots...
We, at IIIT Surat, adore and promote
our nations cultural diversity and linguistics
plurality. We believe in imparting education
interwined with the cultural advancement.
Individuals here are encouraged not only to
soar high in the technical domain but also

SPORTS
Academic learning and sports complement
each other. A healthy mind lives in a healthy
body, and we consider this very seriously.
It not only helps in overall personality
development of the students but also helps
them include the quality of leadership,
sharing, team spirit and tolerence.
Keeping this philosophy in mind, the
students are provided with the state
of the art gym facility, fully furnished
basketball and badminton courts, cricket
and football grounds , sports gears and a
Student Activity Center(SAC) with the facility
of various indoor games.
We have successfully organized sporting
events like annual Inter year cricket
tournament IIITSCT and Volleygriz.
Alongwith the participation in various
sporting events conducted by SVNIT
spanning across the entire year , our
students also took part in the
inter-IIITSports meet-Gusto’20, held at
IIITDM Jabalpur and brought laurels to the

PLACEMENT PROCEDURE
IIIT SURAT
The complete process is governed by Tnp Office's
Student placement policy which is shared with the
companies at the start of the process.
Invitations for the onset of the
Placements with the tentative
itinerary of the placement process
along with the Placement brochure
are sent to the company.
After a company expresses
interest for participation, the
Company is sent a Job
Announcement Form to share
the details of the profile(s)
offered.
Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs) are
scheduled for companies to
interact with the students based
upon mutual agreement on
travelling dates.

Before the PPT, students need to
submit their details according to the
deadline set by the company.
Companies are informed about their
slots for the placement season which
starts from 18th August 2021
(tentative).
Slotting is done subject to the following
parameters :
•Student Preferences

•Job Location
•Compensation package
•Career Prospects
•Student Intake
Based upon Student profiles and/or test
performances, shortlist of students is
provided before the commencement of
placement session. Shortlisted candidates
then appear for the Placement Process of
the company.
Company submits a list of finally
selected students along with a waitlist

IIIT SURAT
To facilitate the process of recruitment and
hiring, various facilities are available within the
college premises:
• Availability of computer labs with a seating
capacity of 100-120 students at a time along
with high-speed Internet connection.
• Seminar hall with Audio and Visual (A/V) support.

discussions (GD) and personal interviews (PI).

commuted within 30 minutes.
