DESCRIPTION
                                                                                                  Lot 1 – Pickston Wood – 50.40 Hectares / 124.54 Acres
                                                                                                  This attractive conifer woodland has been managed for timber
                                                                                                  production. It was first planted in the 1950s and has been
                                                                                                  restructured over the years which has resulted in appealing mix of
                                                                                                  species and ages. The woodland now predominantly consist of Sitka
                                                                                                  spruce which was planted in 2004 and 2021. Some of the stands of
                                                                                                  mixed conifers and Norway spruce could be considered for
                                                                                                  harvesting in the near future.

                                                                                                  The site is gently sloping, rising to 170 meters above sea level at the
                                                                                                  highest point and is well sheltered. There is an attractive loch to the
                                                                                                  south-east of the wood which provides an opportunity for duck
                                                                                                  flighting, fishing and is an ideal spot for a cabin/hut.

                                                                                                  Lot 2 – Drumcairn Wood – 20.20 Hectares / 49.91 Acres

                                                                                                  This compact commercial woodland is in its second rotation. The
                                                                                                  crop almost entirely consists of Sitka spruce which was planted in
                                                                                                  2004 and 2019 and is performing well. The woodland is low lying,
                                                                                                  with an altitude of at 120 meters at the highest point.

                                                                                                  The climate and geography of the area is well suited to growing
                                                                                                  conifer species and both woodlands are showing excellent growth
                                                                                                  rates. According to the Soil Survey of Scotland, the soils types consist
                                                                                                  mostly of mineral podzols for Lot 1 and brown soils for lot 2.
