WORMSLEY PARK, ENGLAND 30 MAY 2018 ABOUT THE EVENT & LOCATION In May 2018, we will hold the 2018 FairBreak Global Day of Gender Equality in partnership with the Commonwealth Businesswomen’s Network at Wormsley, a 2,500 acre private estate in Stokenchurch, Buckinghamshire, England. Wormsley was first mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1196, subsequently home to three families since 1597 and only 45 minutes from London. The estate was acquired by Sir Paul Getty in 1984, who invested in an extensive seven- year re-development program which included the addition of a castled Library containing Sir Paul Getty’s private collection of over 6,000 books, including a 1st edition Shakespeare Folio, Anne Boleyn’s Prayer Book, 1st edition of the Canterbury Tales, etc. Sir Paul Getty achieved his dream of creating his own Cricket Ground when he commissioned Harry Brind OBE (the Head Groundsman at The Oval) to recreate The Sir Paul and Lady Getty also engaged Penelope Hobhouse to bring the 2-acre Walled Oval at Wormsley.
