Youth Athletics
YOUTH TRACK & FIELD - FAYETTE BOLTS
This program is designed to teach the sport of track and field while promoting youth physical fitness and fun for
all athletes. This is a recreation based program that is open to runners of all abilities. Uniforms, meet registration, and
GRPA related fees are included in the program cost. If interested in coaching or assisting, please contact the FCPRD.
Non-residents will not be allowed to advance to the GRPA district or state Track Meet. Copy of Birth certificate and
current water/electricity bill for proof of residency is required at the time of registration.

This league provides players a chance to learn and play the sport of volleyball in a fun and safe environment (all skill
levels welcome). Primary focus includes both instruction and game-play. Practice and games will be held on the same

NET GENERATION TENNIS
This exciting learning opportunity, developed by USTA, is designed to bring youth into the game by adapting the equipment,
court dimensions and the scoring to the age, skill, and size of children just like other youth sports. Each class will include
movement activities and progressive skill development to learn forehands, backhands, and serves in fun and exciting ways.

This winter we are offering an 8-game season (includes post-season; single elimination) to all men who are interested in
playing basketball. Teams will play 5 on 5, full-court basketball with two, twenty minute halves. Teams will need at least 7

               Starting this season when you refer a NEW player to the league that lives in Fayette County, you and the incoming
               player will receive a $10 discount on your registration. Proof of residency is required upon registration. NOTE: The
               incoming player must register prior to the referrer to receive the discount. Registration: January 3 - February 18

LINE DANCING
Line dancing builds confidence. It also provides a foundation for broadening your dance
experience. It enables you to learn balance, rhythm, timing, poise, and posture. It reduces stress,
increases energy, and improves strength and muscle tone. It is a friendly and social atmosphere.
It promotes cardiovascular health through physical workouts of varying intensity. It also has
mental benefits. Line dancing is no longer being danced to just country music. We dance to all
genres of music which include country, rap, pop, hip hop, and line waltz to various artists

DOG OBEDIENCE
Teach your dog to be a canine citizen through obedience
training. This class is based upon the American Kennel
Club’s Companion Dog Course. Your dog will learn to walk
on a leash, come when called, sit, stay, and much more.
Rate applies to one dog. ** Signing up for this class gives
you and your companion a lifetime of support. When you
take and complete this class, you can come back and do a
free refresher session or two at no additional charge for
the life of your dog! Limited to the owner and dog originally

RALLY/ADVANCED DOG OBEDIENCE
Rally Obedience is a sport in which dog and handler
complete a course designed to demonstrate and reinforce

as a dynamic, enjoyable way to practice obedience
commands, or as a link between obedience and agility
competition.
Prerequisite: The dog should have successfully
completed basic dog obedience and/or Canine Good

Youth On–Camera Acting Fun
Leisure/Learn Programs
                         Casting all Kiddos! Step in front of the camera and have some fun each week in an On-Camera
                         Acting class for beginners. If you are new to acting, or even taken a class before, you will learn
                         how it all works in the audition room! This class will cover both theatrical and commercial tv
                         practice scripts. You will understand how to prepare for auditions including but not limited to,
                         delivering a good slate, an on-camera interview, as well as work on improve and cold-reading
                         technique. A demonstration will be held on the 4th week of each class for the parents. Class is
                         taught by an experienced professional.

                                                      WHAT’S THAT NOISE!
When you hear the emergency warning sirens in Fayette County Parks and Recreation areas you need to take immediate action.
The Fayette County 911 Center will sound for the following conditions:
• A tornado warning is issued by the National Weather Service for Fayette County.
• A severe thunderstorm warning issued by the National Weather Service for Fayette County with winds of 80 mph or greater and/or hail
    greater than 2.5 inches in diameter.
• A confirmed tornado sighting by a credible source.
The Fayette County 911 Center will announce a verbal warning message (no siren tones) in recreation areas when the
following occurs:
• A severe thunderstorm warning with expected wind speed of less than 80 mph and/or hail less than 2.5 inches in diameter.
• A significant weather advisory (SWA) accompanied by lightning, hail, and strong winds.
                                                        TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION
•    When siren sounds or verbal warning is given immediately leave and seek shelter in a safe area.
•    If during a storm you are outside in an open area away from shelters, lie flat on the ground away from trees until the storm passes.
