NEW & Renewal PARTnerships Managing Agent Contract for Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau By Wilfred Lee UEMS successfully won the bid to provide managing agent services for Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) with effect from 1 September 2016. The contract is currently managed by Noor Nasharrudin Bin Zaine, Manager and led by Wilfred Lee, Key Account Manager. The mobilisation of the contract involved setting up of management office and transition between outgoing and incoming service providers to ensure successful handing and taking over of duties. It is mandatory to appoint a Risk Management (RM) Champion who will develop and manage the risk management process at the work place to reduce risk at source. Corporate Social Responsiblility CSR Event Visit to Bethany Methodist Nursing Home As part of our ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), UEMS organized a visit to Bethany Methodist Nursing Home on 26 August 2016 for a session of games and activities with the residents. A total of more than 80 residents from Bethany Methodist Nursing Home and UEMS staff participated in the event. It was a joyous session as we played Bingo game and sang along together. Cash donations from UEMS staff were used to prepare refreshments for afternoon tea time and Bingo games prizes for the residents. We also donated daily necessities such as rice, oil, biscuits and beverage to the nursing home. Project Highlights Start-up Managing Agent Contract for Our Tampines Hub By Mark Teo Our Tampines Hub (OTH), Singapore’s first-ever integrated community and lifestyle hub led by People’s Association, will open its door across 3 phases. UEMS was awarded the Managing Agent contract for OTH commencing on 1 June 2016. The mobilisation of the contract involved recruitment of staff, setting up of management office, preparing and developing standard operating procedures to suit the operating requirements, taking over of premises from main contractor as well as coordinating with incoming stakeholders and tenants. The Facilities Management team has worked closely with various stakeholders and has also displayed much perseverance and great teamwork to overcome challenges along the way. Project Highlight Singapore Night Festival @ National Design Centre Showerthoughts By Melinda Ng As one of the venue partners for Night Festival Singapore, National Design Centre (NDC) has been a hot spot for the anticipating event. This year August was no exception at NDC when the Festival was unveiled. The Facilities Management and Events team from UEMS worked collaboratively with the organizers, designers, and artists to ensure the setup a n d mainte na n c e we re read y fo r th e overwhelming crowd. Of the three Night Lights installations, Showerthoughts located at Gallery 1 was obviously overrun by curious visitors. The queue waiting to be awed by infinite lights formed immediately after the show just started. The queues snaked through the Atrium where there was Komorebi 2 (a Japanese term roughly refers to the sunlight that filters through tree branches and leaves) performing the symphony of lights and shadow.
