ORO EQUESTRIAN NORTH ISLAND DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS 26-28 February 2021 – NEC Taupo Hosted by Dressage Waikato A Kiwi Arena Rakes Premier League Event Closing Date – 6th February 2021 (midnight) Important Information Responsibility: It is the riders, or person responsible, obligation to read and understand the conditions for this event as published in this schedule. Riders are also to ensure they are familiar with both Dressage Waikato and NEC’s Health and Safety Policies, which will be available at the Office to view. Commitment: Riders are reminded that while your entry is not confirmed and complete until such time as the correct amount of payment is made in full, submission of an entry is a commitment. Even if the entry is subsequently scratched, fees are payable and the scratching policy will be used to determine refunds. Please refer to the scratching policy at the back of this schedule for details. Yarding/Camping: Yarding and Camping will be allocated based on the order in which complete and paid for entries are received. Riders are reminded that to ensure a complete entry, all registrations must be current at time of entry and through to the end of the competition, and all fees must be paid. Covered yarding, stabling and powered camping will be at a premium and will fill quickly. Once all available spaces are taken by confirmed entries, the option to select them will be removed and replaced with a waitlist option Payment: Payment to be made by Direct Credit or POLi at time of entry. Any funds not received by close of entries may attract late charges to ensure start. Entries not paid will not be included in the draw and may be removed to waitlist if classes are over subscribed. Balloting: It is not our intention to ballot, but classes may need to be restricted if entries become too large. Entries will be accepted in order of receipt and payment, and all entries not able to be confirmed with a start will be waitlisted
Event Schedule and Conditions Entry Conditions: 1. Entries Close for Oro Equestrian North Island Dressage Championships on 6 February 2021 at midnight 2. Entry is not confirmed as accepted until payment is received into our bank account in full and all horse/rider registrations are current to at least the end of the show 3. Enter online at www.equestrianentries.co.nz. No other form of entries will be accepted. 4. Late Entries & Changes - Please contact Kara Lockhart – email dressagewaikatofestival@gmail.com. Late Entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Organizing Committee if entries allow and may be placed on waiting list until draw is posted. 5. Late penalty fee of $10.00 per class will apply and proof of payment must be received before entry accepted. 6. Direct Credit account number 03 1563 0419176 00 using name & rider ESNZ Registration number as reference. 7. POLI will be available as method of payment at time of entry 8. Draw will be emailed out and available at www.equestrianentries.co.nz 9. Horses and ponies are restricted to 1 start per day Friday and Sunday, 2 tests per horse on Saturday (with the exception of the Developing Horse Classes). Riders are limited to 4 horses, with a maximum of 4 starts per day Friday and Sunday, 6 starts on Saturday. 10. Developing Horses are limited to one level of test only 11. All horses and riders must have current ESNZ registration at time of entry and valid through to 1 March 2021. Horses must have either an Annual Dressage Start or flexi start payment must be made. 12. Annual Dressage Starts are required to enter the DNZ Super 5 League Series and the Zilco Musical Freestyle Series. Flexi starts may be used to enter Super 5 and Musical classes at this show, however no series points will be allocated 13. Withdrawals and Refunds – Please see page 11. 14. Qualifiers: Premier League Shows are a qualifier for Land Rover Horse of the Year Show 2021. Points can be gained for the Super 5 League, Zilco Musical Freestyle Series, Prestige Futures Prize, AMS Pony Young Rider Performance League. Riders wishing to accrue points in any Dressage NZ Top 10 League should have registered online at Equestrian Entries prior to 1st December 2020 15. Abuse of horses, officials, volunteers, employees or other competitors will not be tolerated 16. Please note Dressage NZ Equestrian Rules do not allow the use of prohibited gear from the time of arrival on the grounds. 17. Official start time: The official event start time is 8am Friday 26 February 2021. This is the start time for the period of jurisdiction for all Equestrian Sport New Zealand (ESNZ) General Regulations and ESNZ Dressage rules. Please note Dressage NZ rule 477 prohibited gear is not allowed from the time of arrival at the event. 18. Official end time: The official finish time will be sixty minutes after the completion of the last class or sixty minutes after the completion of all presentations for the event – whichever is the latter Privacy: Dressage Waikato, Dressage NZ and ESNZ reserve the right to use event photographs for marketing, advertising, and other purposes as they see fit. Competitors and/or participants will receive no remuneration for this. All images remain the property of Dressage Waikato. General Conditions: 1. Health and Safety: a) Dressage NZ and Dressage Waikato are committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy event for all participants, and to providing the information, training and supervision needed to achieve this. b) Competitor or Exhibitor must comply with the appropriate Legislation and Health & Safety at Work Act 2015. c) Each Competitor and/or exhibitor must supervise and control their animals at all times and shall be liable for any hazard created, accident, illness or damage caused by the action of themselves at the venue of the Event d) All competitors and associated staff/visitors to the venue must abide by the ESNZ/Dressage NZ Rules, the Dressage Waikato and NEC’s Health & Safety Policies e) Copies of the event Health & Safety Policy can be found at the event office. f) Any incident or near miss must be reported to event office and an incident form completed. g) Any hazards identified must be reported to event office. h) Competitors will be responsible for their safety at all times and must observe safe practices and following event rules and officials’ instructions at all times, ensuring that others are not put a risk by their actions.
General Conditions continued 2. Competitors and spectators attending this show do so at their own risk, and neither the National Equestrian Centre, ESNZ, Dressage NZ, Dressage Waikato or any representative of these bodies, accepts any liability for any loss, damage, injury or illness to horse, pony, rider, spectators, land, vehicles or any personal property whether caused by their negligence or breach of contract in anyway. 3. The National Equestrian Centre, Dressage NZ or Dressage Waikato shall not be liable for the safety of any goods/equipment or the loss of, or damage to such, brought in/stored at the venue, during the event 4. Dressage Waikato is required to run all events under the ESNZ Concussion Policy Guidelines 5. Dressage Waikato policy requires all riders to report to Medical Officer following a fall. Medical clearance must be obtained before remounting or competing. 6. The Organising Committe reserves the right to refuse entries, alter or cancel the programme/schedule and/or prize money if necessary within ESNZ GR’s and/or Dressage NZ rules. 7. All Stallions must comply with ESNZ Article 147. 8. All objections to class results must be lodged with the secretary in writing within 30 minutes of the completion of the class with a $50 fee. Other protests, objections or complaints must be lodged within 60 minutes of the official finish time in writing including a fee of $50. 9. Unmounted Prize Giving for all Super 5, Musicals, Championships, and NZ Hanoverian. Failure to attend will result in forfeiture of prize money, products (if substituted), rosettes and/or rugs. No substitutions (or stand ins) will be accepted out of respect to Sponsors. For all other class rosettes can be collected from the office. 10. Prizes may be substituted with sponsor products of the same or greater value 11. If 6 riders or less in any class, prize money will be paid out as a sweepstake whilst adhering to Art 465 of Dressage NZ Rules 12. If entries are insufficient, Amateur/Open/Pony classes may be combined, although separate Championships will still be offered 13. All tests are from DNZ Test book version 2019 reprint 1 or FEI Website. Please note any new V2021 FEI Tests may apply from1 January 2021 for Small Tour, Medium Tour and Grand Prix classes (please check www.fei.org for latest versions) 14. Super 5 tests must be ridden from memory – no caller is permitted 15. Equal Placings: In the case of equality in any class, the higher collective marks will determine the higher placing. If the competitors are still equal, then the higher co-efficient marks will determine the placing. If there is still an equality of points, the competitors are given the same placing. 16. All outstanding amounts from any previous Dressage Waikato shows must be cleared before entries will be confirmed 17. Scratchings must be notified by text/email (before 9pm) prior to start of show on 25 February 2021. Scratchings after the start of the show must be notified to 027-483-4328 (phone/text/email) 18. Refund policy – details and refund form can be found at the back of the Schedule 19. Where yarding requests cannot be met, refunds will be made via internet banking after the show 20. All prize money will be paid out after the show via internet banking. 21. All horses on the Ground must be competing unless the Organising Committee gives permission otherwise Competition Draw Draw will be available by email and at www.equestrianentries.co.nz If required, a revised draw and/or start times for the following day’s competition will be available at 6.30pm each evening on the results board. The OC reserves the right to alter the programme to ensure the smooth running of the event. It is the riders responsibility to check any new times posted.
Competition Arena Use and Familiarisation All competition arenas are closed at all times except when opened for Familarisation. Familarisation times will be notified in Rider Notices sent out by email before the show. A designated warm up area is open during daylight hours, and is only for the use of horse/ponies entered in this competition. Professional Services 1. Equine Therapists and Treatment a. Any equine therapists or practitioners who are not veterinarian and intend to provide therapeutic treatment to equines in any capacity at this event in a private or commercial basis must notify the Organising Committee of any treatment prior to the event. b. All practitioners must also comply with the Conditions applicable to this event set out in the Schedule of classes. c. Riders who own their equipment (eg Equissage, Cyclossage or similar) are only permitted to treat their own horses with these systems at the event. d. Any practitioner receiving financial or other gain from providing therapies at the event will be required to pay a trade exhibitor fee at the discretion of the Organizing Committee. 2. Other Professionals a. Any other professional intending on providing services at this event must obtain prior agreement from the Organizing Committee – this excludes professionals Dressage Coaches assisting in the warmup of competitors and grooms that are in part or full time employment of a competitor Venue Rules 1. Competitors and spectators attending this event do so at their own risk 2. No Smoking in any buildings or in yard/stable areas. Fine and/or elimination may result 3. Any damage to the National Equestrian Centre facilities must be reported immediately to the Event Office 4. Riding Helmets must comply with ESNZ General Regulations Article 151 5. All Horses/ponies on grounds must be entered in the event and must have an allocated yard/stable/paddock 6. All people onsite at NEC are expected to act safely at all times. This will ensure their own welfare and that of their fellow employees/volunteers or contractors. It will also assist in providing a safe environment for public visitors to the Fiber Fresh National Equestrian Centre venue. 7. Dogs: a. Dogs must be kept in the truck park, and be on a lead at all times b. No dogs are allowed in any stable or yarding area, warmup, competition area’s or buildings c. Dogs may be exercised on the cross country course only d. Failure to comply will result in an instant $50 fine and the dog owners elimination from the competition Vehicles and Motorbikes 1. Speed limit for all vehicles is 10kph 2. Motorbikes may not be used after 8.30pm and must be used in accordance with normal road rules. 3. Must be kept away from all arenas, warm up arenas, office and scoreboards 4. Helmets must be worn on all motorbikes 5. Appropriate licences are to be carried when riding motorbikes 6. Any failure to adhere to rules will result in fines and elimination. Horse Identification and Accommodation 1. All horses/ponies must wear ID tags or bridle numbers at all times. 2. When competing, bridle/saddle cloth numbers must be displayed on both sides of the horse 3. When not competing, it is compulsory that horses/ponies are identified with ID tags that also include the person responsible name and a contact number 4. If the Person responsible leaves the venue, an alternative person responsible must be nominated (and informed), notified to the Event Office, and their contact details attached to the horses halter 5. Moving to, or keeping horses in, unallocated yards/paddocks without authorization is prohibited and may result in disqualification 6. All yards/stables to be left properly mucked out, or a $50 fine may be imposed

ORO EQUESTRIAN NORTH ISLAND DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021 Please Note Please note it is an NEC Health & Safety requirement that ALL horses/ponies at events are allocated stables, paddocks or yards and tying to trucks or floats is not permitted (except for saddling up etc) The Horse Accommodation Fees cover the period from Thursday – Sunday. If you arrive before Thursday, or leave after Sunday, arrangements must be made directly with NEC for additional yarding/camping fees. The Organising Committee will allocate these facilities in order of confirmed entry (including payment into our bank account). Any riders missing out on yarding requests will be wait listed for their preference, and will be refunded via internet banking after the show if necessary Championships Champion & Reserve of each grade Open (Preliminary – Grand Prix), Amateur (Preliminary-Advanced Medium), Pony (riders 16 years and under Preliminary-Medium) and Para (Grades I-V) are all decided on points system based on all Friday, Saturday & Sunday classes. Combinations are eligible for one level of Championship only, please select appropriate category at time of entry. Amateur championships - to qualify for these Championship titles, the rider in Preliminary classes must be category CN-C3, Novice CN-C4, Elementary, Medium and Advanced Medium CN-C5. Amateurs can enter either Amateur or Open Championships. There is to be no changing of Championship Categories after the commencement of the show Championship Points 1. Championship points are allocated 20 for 1st, to 1 for 20th. 2. Champions and Reserves: The horse with the highest aggregate allocated points from specified classes will be the Championship winner. In the event of a tie, the combination with the highest average percentage is the winner. If there is still a tie, the combination with the higher placing in the Super 5 test will be the winner. Special Awards 1. NZ Hanoverian Society Award – Horse must be registered with the NZHS. 2. Young Riders Award, Masters Award Eligibility: Young Rider Award: Open to riders on horse or pony. Rider must be 20yrs or under as at 1st August 2020. Please state at time of entry to be eligible. All classes from Saturday (except classes 911-913) and Sunday, plus classes 601-901 and 151-156 on Friday eligible for points Masters Award: Open to all riders over the age of 50 at the start date of the show. Please state at time of entry to be eligible. ORO EQUESTRIAN NORTH ISLAND DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021 Dressage Waikato Trophies 1. The Golden Horseshoe Millennium Trophy: This annual challenge is to be competed for by Dressage Waikato members at Level 5 and above. Three shows, one designated and advertised test at each level at each show. Top score over all three tests. Any combination of horse and rider may win this trophy only. 2. May Sommerville Trophy: Awarded for best percentage of the highest level test ridden by a Waikato area ESNZ registered horse. 3. The Susan Carol Edwards Memorial Trophy: Awarded for best freestyle percentage of any level test ridden by a Dressage NZ Waikato registered horse. 4. The Poot Cup for Young Rider Awarded for best percentage in the highest test ridden by a Waikato registered Young Rider. 5. The Fritz Trophy – Level 7 Awarded for best performance at Inter I level if Waikato has a GP horse, and at PSG level if it does not, and ridden by a Dressage NZ Waikato registered horse. 6. The Rubicon Trophy - Level 5 Awarded for the best performance at Level 5 by a Dressage NZ Waikato registered horse. 7. The Priors Trophy - Level 4 Awarded for highest test scheduled and ridden at Level 4 by Dressage NZ registered horse & rider from any area. 8. The Victor Trophy - Level 4 Awarded for highest test scheduled and ridden at Level 4 by a Dressage NZ Waikato registered horse. 9. The Sea Prince Trophy - Level 3 Awarded for highest test scheduled and ridden at Level 3 by a Dressage NZ Waikato registered horse. 10. The Clark Trophy - Level 2 Awarded for best performance in Level 2 Championship/Qualifier Test by a Dressage NZ Waikato registered horse. 11. The Kentucky Trophy - Level 1 Awarded for best performance for highest test scheduled by a Dressage NZ Waikato registered horse. 12. Airthrey Highlander Memorial Trophy The Airthrey Highlander Trophy will be won by a rider with the best aggregate score (total %) of all 3 classes excluding MFS, in the Amateur sections (Amateur Level 1 or Amateur Level 2) riding a Crossbred horse, not bred for dressage. For the purposes of this award, a Crossbred horse must have no warmblood ancestry, or be any breed specifically purpose bred for dressage. 13. Solar Integrity Sportsmanship Trophy Awarded to any person deemed to show the most sportsmanlike behaviour at the show –nominations can be made by any person to Show Secretary before the end of competition Saturday All Trophies awarded on final day of competition.

If vet certificate provided, only the horse to which the certificate applies will receive a refund.
