POOL & VENUE INFORMATION Pool information Repsol Sport Centre, 2225 MacLeod Trail South, Calgary, Alberta T2G 5B6 View on Google Maps Pool Dimensions Competition Pool: 25m x 20m (8 lanes). Depth: 2.6m Warmup Pool: 25m x 20m. Depth: 1.8m Transportation Transportation to and from the pool is the responsibility of individual clubs. Please note that the Repsol Sport Centre is 20 km from Calgary International Airport (YYC). Food on deck No food or drink (other than water in closed, non-glass containers) is allowed on pool deck. Food for athletes An athlete lounge with tables and chairs will be provided in one of the gyms at pool level. Clubs will be allowed to bring food into the facility and it will be possible to heat up and serve meals in this area. Parking Parking at Repsol Sport Centre is free but limited. REGISTRATION, FEES & PAYMENT Entry Deadline Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11:59pm EST. Entry Submission All registration and entries must be sent online using Synchro Canada’s E-Sport Event Registration Information program. To confirm registration, please forward a copy of your registration in pdf format to registrar@synchro.ca. Changes to entries can be made on the E-Sport registration site until the deadline. Information recorded on E-Sport will be automatically downloaded into the scoring program - please ensure that the submitted information is accurate. Information Package #2 - page 2

According to CASSA Rule, 5.1.5, fees of $25 per routine are charged for any late, incorrect and/or in- complete entries by the stated deadline(s), payable to Synchro Canada. It is the coach’s and/or swimmer’s responsibility to pay this fine to the appropriate official by one hour before the beginning of the competi- tion for that category. Failure to do so shall result in disqualification. The FINAL deadline for late entries is 2 weeks prior to the start of the competition, on March 6, 2018, 11:59 pm EST. No entries will be accepted after this date. Athlete Surcharge The athlete surcharge fee is $75 per athlete. Please use the Event Registration Form to indicate the number of athletes and calculate the amount due. Technical Fee The Technical Fee is $45, levied once per junior/senior athlete. Please use the Event Registration Form to indicate the number of junior/senior athletes and calculate the amount due. Hospitality Fee The Athlete Hospitality will be used to offset the cost of offering an athlete lounge where athletes will be able to rest and chaperones will be able to prepare and serve meals. The fee is $5 per athlete. Please use the Event Registration Form to indicate the number of athletes and calculate the amount due. Photos for display on Video Clubs are invited to send team pictures to be displayed on the video screen during breaks and warmups. Screen Clubs who have athletes not participating in team events can also send pictures of duets or solos. Please indicate how many pictures you plan to send on the Event Registration Form where the $10/ picture fee will be calculated and included in the total amount to be sent to Synchro Canada. Pictures must be sent to stephane@synchro.ca before March 2, 2018. Extra Pool Time Rental Extra pool time is available for rental on Monday, March 19. Please express your interest and preferred Monday, March 19 times using the Event Registration Form. Payment Two payment methods are available. In both cases, payment must be received before the final pay- ment deadline to avoid penalties. NEW - Extended Payment 1. 2018 QUALIFIER QUALIFICATIONS CALGARY 2018 C A LGARY , A B Canadian National Qualifier COMMUNICATION & COMPETITION INFORMATION Email Policy All correspondence as required will be by email, using the contact email provided in the online Event Registration Form. Communication All meet information packages and other important communications will be available on the Syn- chro Canada website, www.synchro.ca. Language Policy All official information packages and correspondence will be provided in French and English. All event announcements will be made in French and English. 13-15 Figures Draw The optional figures group for the 13-15 Figures event will be determined by Synchro Canada, according to Synchro Canada rule 4.5.3.b.i. The figure group […] shall be drawn and posted by the Chief Referee or his/her designate one week prior to the start of the figure event and will be posted on the Synchro Canada website immediately after they have been drawn. Results Results will be sent only to the emails provided by the clubs in the online Event Registration Form and will be posted on www.synchro.ca following each event. Security and Health Services Trained Lifeguards will be on deck at all times during the competition. Admission All tickets must be purchased at the door. The all-event weekly pass will be sold for 35$, and daily passes will also be sold on event days for $12. Event photography Long-time synchro photographer Dan Robichaud will be in Calgary to take pictures of all routines. Pictures will be available for purchase on his site after the event at danrobichaud.zenfolio.com. Consent forms & waivers All athletes must fill out the Athlete Waivers and Medical Release forms available at the end of this package which must be handed in at the registration table before the beginning of the competition. Anti-Doping and prohibited By registering for this competition, athletes acknowledge that they agree to be subject to random substances unannounced anti-doping testing. 2018 QUALIFIER QUALIFICATIONS CALGARY 2018 C A LGARY , A B Canadian National Qualifier 7 MUSIC REQUIREMENTS FILE FORMAT Please note that digital music will be used at this competition. There must be one digital file for each registered routine in an mp3 format, with a minimum required resolution of 192kbps. LABELING CONVENTION File must be labeled with the following information, all separated by underscores, with no blank spaces. INFORMATION POSSIBLE OPTIONS / INSTRUCTIONS 1 – Age Group 13-15, Junior, Senior 2 – Event Solo, SoloTech, Duet, DuetTech, Team, TeamTech, Combo, Highlight 3 – Club Name No spaces, please! 4 – Athlete Last Name For duets, please use both last names. For teams, please use the first swimmer’s last name, by alphabetical order Examples: 11-12_Duet_WaterlooSynchro_Neufeld-Clark.mp3 13-15_Solo_WaterlooSynchro_Willie-Leaper.mp3 13-15_Team_WaterlooSynchro_Armstrong.mp3 Coaches should review each digital file for quality, timing and completeness. It is highly suggested to include a 3-5 second lead from « play » until the music starts. DEADLINE The deadline to send all routine music files is February 27, 2018, at 11:59pm. Please note that CASSA rule 4.8.2.a will be strictly enforced: If the music is not submitted by the deadline, if it is not in the correct format, if it is not labeled correctly, […] there will be a $100 fine per infraction. 2018 QUALIFIER QUALIFICATIONS C A LGARY , A B ATHLETE WAIVERS NAME OF SWIMMER Last Name First Name CLUB NAME & CATEGORY PUBLICITY WAIVER The undersigned hereby acknowledges and consents to the fact that the 2018 Canadian Qualifier event may be televised/streamed either in whole or in part for showing on a world-wide basis. The undersigned athlete hereby consents to the use of his or her performances, name, biography and likeness on or in connection with any television or radio program, video/DVD, web streaming, web archiving, print media or the advertising and publicizing of such program as may be designated by Synchro Canada and waives all rights to remuneration or otherwise in connection with the above. The foregoing is subject to assurance that the eligible status of the athlete will be fully protected by Synchro Canada. LIABILITY WAIVER The undersigned understands, acknowledges and agrees that Synchro Canada shall not be liable for injury or loss occasioned by the athlete while travelling to or from or during the 2018 Canadian Qualifier event nor shall Synchro Canada be responsible for any damages or losses caused by the athlete during the same time. The undersigned athlete and/or athlete’s parent(s)/legal guardian agrees to indemnify Synchro Canada and hold it harmless from any claims or demands in respect of such loss or damage. CALCULATION OF RESULTS WAIVER The undersigned understands, acknowledges and agrees that there is a possibility of human error in the calculation and posting of results. Synchro Canada will make every effort to ensure results are accurate including announcing corrections when they are required and in ac- cordance with Synchro Canada rules. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that I have received this copy of the above Synchro Canada Waivers and that I have fully read and understood and agree to such Synchro Canada Waivers. 2018 QUALIFIER QUALIFICATIONS C A LGARY , A B MEDICAL RELEASE FORM NAME OF SWIMMER Last Name First Name CLUB NAME & CATEGORY I, ______________________________________________________________ (the undersigned individual) admit knowingly and willingly that I have voluntarily enrolled in the 2018 Canadian Qualifier event that includes, but is not limited to, all in-pool and out-of-pool activities as de- scribed in the official event announcements. I am in good health, without injury or illness, and have not been told by any doctor that I may not participate in any physical activity. In consideration of my entry and of my own free will, I do hereby for myself and my heirs, executors, and administrators, waive, release, and give up any and all claims, demands, liability, damages, costs and expenses of any kind whatsoever (including personal injury to me or my wrongful death) against Synchro Canada and its instructors, volunteers, employees, agents and any other persons involved in the event, that may arise from my participation in the event or while traveling to and from the event, even if caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other fault of the aforementioned parties or persons. I am aware of and fully understand the inherent and significant risks associated with my participation in the event. I fully understand that I may injure myself as a result of my participation in the events and hereby release Synchro Canada and its instructors, volunteers, employees, agents and any other persons involved in the events from any liability, now or in the future, including but not limited to all physical, mental or emotional illnesses or injuries, however caused, occurring during or after my participation in the event. I agree that all my participation in the event, as well as travel to and from the event shall be at my own risk. I acknowledge my obligation to immediately inform the nearest employee or others of Synchro Canada if I feel any pain, discomfort, fatigue or other symptoms that I may suffer during and immediately after my participation in the event. I understand I may stop participation at any time, and I may be requested to stop by an employee or others of Synchro Canada who observes any symptoms of distress or abnormal response. I fully understand that I am forever giving up, in advance, any right to sue or make claims against the parties that I am releasing, if I suffer any injuries or damages, even though I do not know what or how extensive those injuries and damages might be and am voluntarily assuming the risk of such injuries or damages.
