The University of Primorska was founded by the Republic of Slovenia on 29th January 2003 as the third Slovenian University. Its name “Primorska” is the name of the region where it is located, that is the Littoral region of Slovenia. The University of Primorska operates in a bordering area as a contact point between Central Europe, South-Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean.
