#OneMoreBreath BUILD COVID FIELD HOSPITALS (WITH OXYGEN SUPPORT) IN INDIA - May 4, 2021
COVID in India today : A Human Crisis
• May 1st : New Covid cases > 400,000; case
load > 1 M / day by end of May Need to look beyond the towns large NGOs think of …

• By end May, projecting ~ 10,000 deaths a
  day, which is 7 people/min
• Spreading across India
  • Delhi is in the news, but the crisis is even
greater in small towns and cities like Kolkata
and Bangalore which have less hospital
    infrastructure
  • Elections in West Bengal, and U.P. and
Kumbh Mela in Uttarakhand make these
    geographies a ticking time bomb
• Key issue is lack of hospital beds with
  Oxygen
#OneMoreBreath BUILD COVID FIELD HOSPITALS (WITH OXYGEN SUPPORT) IN INDIA - May 4, 2021
OneMoreBreath: Save 28,000+ Lives
• Set up 1400 Hospital beds with oxygen support in the towns that are badly hit & and
lack hospital beds (relative to Delhi/Mumbai)
• Work with existing hospitals, in existing hospital infrastructure
 • Leverage existing manpower (nurses/doctors in short supply)
 • Lowest capex cost per bed (relative to standalone structures) and least time to operationalize beds

• Focus on “moderate” cases that require oxygen support
 • Reduce chances of requiring ICU, while maximize ROI (lives saved per $)
 • Using hospital grade oxygen concentrators (10 L / min; 90% +/- 3% purity) to start with to minimize time
   to market

• Partner with local non-profits for on the ground logistics and to fund operating costs
