Wednesday 6th January 2021 Owned and Loved by Locals Circulation 6000 N0.11 One of the best Mountain Bike Parks at our back door “We are so lucky”, explains Bruce Pain, representative of the Manning Great Lakes Tip Riders (Tippies). “One of the biggest and best Mountain Bike Parks on the Eastern seaboard is right here at our backdoor.” Today we met Bruce Pain and Paul Mackie, both Tippie members, in their distinctive green bike tops at the Kiwarrak Mountain Bike Park (pronounced “Kye-warrick”) on the Bucketts Way, opposite the Taree Waste Management Centre. Both are passionate mountain bike riders who are happy to show us the recent upgrades built by Tippie volunteers. While we chat, a steady stream of locals and tourists arrive to unload their bikes before approaching the large sign that shows the many bike trails to choose from. Our hosts Bruce and Paul [see photo far left] naturally start to say hello and give good advice of which trail will suit their needs. A bike pump is also lent out from their resourceful 4WD.
