Valentino switches to four wheels Goetz, Dominik Baumann and Al Zubair Al Faisal will challenge in a Mercedes AMG GT3. Returning to challenge for the title with two GT3 Pro cars is Attempto Racing, which came close to to headline the 2019 Gulf 12 Hours winning the 2018 race, eventually finishing in third place in its Audi R8 GT3. Factory drivers Christopher Mies and Dries Vanthoor along with Rinat Salikhov will attempt to take to the top step of the podium this year in the #66 machine. The second Attempto-entered car will be raced by Murod Sultanov, Mattia Drudi and Australian driver Nick Foster. The 3Y Technology team will enter two cars in this year’s Gulf 12 Hours. By fielding a M6 GT3 in the GT3 AM class, and an M4 in the GT4 class, it will be the first time in the nine-year history of this prestigious race that the BMW marque has been represented. It will be a Ferrari versus Mercedes dual in the GT3 Am class, as the 2018 overall champion team Kessel Racing will enter two Ferrari 488 cars in the GT3 Am class. Italian team AF Corse will also enter its 488 GT3, with Mercedes represented by SPS Automotive Performance and AKKA ASP challenging in AMG GT3 machinery. The GT Cup category will be divided into two separate classes for 2019, with Lamborghini Super Trofeo cars challenging each other, while there will also be a battle between Porsche 911 Cup cars. GDL Racing will compete in both classes, with Dubai-based Dragon Racing - host of the race week’s Motorsport Wednesday test day - also racing in the GT Cup 1 class with their Lamborghini Super Trofeo.
