Undergraduate Research Experience on Campus (URECA) A university-wide programme to cultivate a research culture among the most able undergraduates in NTU. A unique opportunity for NTU undergraduates to touch, feel and experience research at a level not available elsewhere. Available to the most academically able 2nd & 3rd year undergraduates The coveted title of NTU President Research Scholar will be awarded.
Going International, Staying Competitive GLOBAL EXCHANGE & ATTACHMENT PROGRAMMES WITH 250 INSTITUTIONS IN 27 COUNTRIES Provides students with work, study and/or carry out research opportunities from 2 weeks to a year to gain global education exposure.
Global Programmes One in two students has at least one overseas learning opportunity during their undergraduate studies at NTU. The university will go up to 70% of each cohort. Students who qualify will receive financial support for these trips.

NTU Career Fair 2012 • A record number of 221 Singapore and multinational organisations is zeroing in on NTU students at this year's NTU Career Fair. • In total, there are about 3,000 job openings at this year's Fair. • Credit Suisse and ExxonMobil, which were honoured as major employers this year, have converted a high percentage of NTU interns to full-time hires over the years, and have employed a total of 100 or more students over 5 consecutive years.

Residential Living • 16 Halls Of Residence 9,226 accommodation places currently • 40% of students staying on campus @ Nanyang Drive • Two more residential halls in 2014 Additional 1,250 places for students • Additional 5,000 new hostel places in 2015 with 6 more new halls @ North Hill • Feedback from Student Focus Groups were taken into account in the design of the new facilities • 200-seat multipurpose hall, gymnasium and functional facilities.

Learning for the Gen Z NTU has a range of easily accessible electronic resources to aid campus-wide video- learning. We have a recording system to record all lectures for online viewing by students. All students are issued “Clickers” so that they can be more participative during classes using the wireless student response and voting systems.

Target 1st intake in New Programme AY2014/2015 Earth and Environmental Sciences • First intake in AY2014 • Provide students with a broad background in the fundamentals of the Earth and Environmental Sciences the quantitative, analytical, and communications skills necessary to conduct research and think critically about questions involving the Earth. • Career opportunities: Geological and environmental consulting, land use and planning, law, teaching, and other professions in which an understanding of the Earth and a background in science are important. Earth scientists have many chances for extensive travel or employment in foreign countries.

Premier Scholars’ Programmes • University Scholars Programme (USP) USP offers an exciting multi-disciplinary curriculum that supplements students’ core curriculum and general education programme. • Renaissance Engineering Programme (REP) The REP awards Bachelor of Engineering Science degree (with specialization in a specific engineering discipline) and Master of Science in Technology Management in 4.5 years. One year overseas study/internship opportunities at renowned universities/partners such as University of California, Berkeley & Silicon Valley. • CN Yang Scholars Programme The programme is designed for exceptional students with a deep passion in science and engineering, and strong interests in pursuing careers in research and post graduate studies.

Nanyang Scholarship • Subsidised tuition fee (after Tuition Grant) • Living allowance of S$6,000 per AY • Book allowance of S$500 per AY • Accommodation allowance of up to S$2,000 per AY (applicable to scholars who reside in NTU hostels only^) • Settling-in allowance of S$250 (one-off) • Computer allowance of S$1,500 (one-off) • Travel grant of S$5,000 (one-off) • Bond Free • Priority for Overseas Study Programme ** No bond is attached to the scholarship apart from the three-year bond applicable to all Singapore PRs and international students under the MOE Tuition Grant Scheme. ^ For the Biomedical Sciences & Chinese medicine and the NTU-Georgia Tech Integrated Programmes, the scholarship cover only the first three years of study in NTU. For the Renaissance Engineering Programme (REP), the scholarship is also applicable for the one year the scholar is at the University of California Berkeley.

Singapore-Industry Scholarship The scholarship aims at nurturing a strong core of Singapore talent with the requisite skills and capabilities to steer and contribute to the strategic economic and people sectors. Eligibility • Open to Singapore citizens only. • Good GCE ‘A’ Level (at least 10 academic units), IB Diploma, Polytechnic Diploma results or equivalent. • Must be passionate about a career in Singapore’s strategic sectors. Early Admission and Scholarship Exercise • For the AY2012-13 exercise – 98% of those who have submitted complete applications (including fees payment) received an early admission offer. – 49% of those shortlisted for scholarship were awarded. • For AY2013-14 exercise – Received 50% more nominations and 53% more applications – Scholarship and admission interviews are in progress and we have sent our some early offers.
