14 February/Febrero 2020 Note from Head of School / Nota de la Directora de la Escuela Black History Month is being celebrated in a big way at Morris Jeff with outstanding performances of "My Black is NOLA" by our elementary and middle school students, the Middle School Poetry Slam last week, and today's High School Black History Presentation. I want to thank our talented staff members who gave of their time after school and on weekends to ensure our students had these opportunities to pay tribute to the rich heritage of our African American community here in New Orleans and beyond. These experiences are unforgettable in the lives of our students as they live out the stories of those who have come before us to blaze paths of freedom and opportunity and to remind all of us of the gifts and sacri ces of those who struggled to ensure a place like Morris Jeff can thrive in our community.
