NABC RECYCLED RIDES ® NABC Recycled Rides® works with insurance and rental car companies to provide vehicles to collision repair shops who donate reliable transportation to individuals and service organizations in need. Since 2007, through the NABC Recycled Rides® program, NABC® members: • Gifted nearly 3,000 vehicles to people in need • Delivered nearly $42 million in vehicle value at giftings • In Spring 2022, we will gift our 3,000th vehicle • That’s thousands of lives impacted –thanks to our members’ support!
OUR EVENTS IN 2022 NABC Recycled Rides® is hosting safe, socially distanced presentation events across the country! THIS YEAR WE WILL PRESENT MORE THAN 300 CARS.
NABC SUPPORTS VETERANS NABC Recycled Rides® donates some 75 percent of its vehicles to veterans and military service organizations. TOGETHER WITH OUR MEMBERS, WE HAVE PRESENTED MORE THAN 2,000 CARS TO VETERANS IN NEED.
NABC F.R.E.E.™ PROGRAM The NABC First Responder Emergency Extrication (F.R.E.E.™) program provides advanced education and guidance to help first responders practice cutting techniques on advanced vehicles, addressing high-strength steel and composite materials, multiple airbags, onboard technology and changing vehicle design. Through the program, NABC® and its members have helped educate nearly 5,000 first responders on how to cut and extricate from today’s advanced vehicles and saving lives in these communities
NABC DRIVE OUT DISTRACTION PROGRAM The NABC® Drive Out Distraction program is helping educate drivers and their passengers about reducing the dangers of distracted driving with a national campaign that focuses on: • Preparing for the road trip by downloading directions, checking weather and traffic conditions, setting the radio station and familiarizing yourself with the vehicle controls • Reducing cell phone distractions by setting devices to “do not disturb” • Eliminating in-car interruptions by securing pets, buckling in children and reminding passengers not to distract the driver with inappropriate behavior
NABC ® AWARDS • THE 2021 NABC® PRESIDENT’S AWARD honors the NABC® member company that supports the vision of the National Auto Body Council® through donation of their time and resources. For 2021, the NABC® President’s Award was presented to Farmers Insurance®, Throughout 2021, Farmers Insurance assisted with the gifting of nearly 30 NABC Recycled Rides® vehicles as well as provided their staff with the time and resources to act as chairman of the NABC® Fundraising committee and support NABC® activities. • THE 2021 NABC® CHANGING AND SAVING LIVES AWARD recognizes the individual in the collision repair industry that has delivered exemplary service in the NABC® mission of Changing and Saving Lives Every Day. This 2021 award recipient is Josh Byers, general manager of Automotive Color & Supply. Byers is actively involved in changing the lives of young people through his support of the Boys & Girls Club of Fort Wayne, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana, and the World Baseball Academy. He also is a member of the Indiana Auto Body Association Board of Directors, sits as President of Refinish Distributors Alliance (RDA), and serves on the advisory board for Ivy Tech’s collision program in Fort Wayne. • organizations and other interested parties.
