INTRODUCTION MOTHER THERESA POST GRADUATE AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF HEALTH SCIENCES has been established by the Government of Puducherry as an Institute of Government sponsored society and is administered by a duly constituted Governing Body headed by the Chief Secretary, Government of Puducherry as the Chairman and the Secretary (Health) as the Vice-Chairman. This Institute is having state-of-art Air Conditioned Library with 14,865 books and subscribing to 41 Indian journals and 9 foreign journals apart from 10 computer terminals with internet facility and reprographic facilities. This Institute is having well equipped Laboratories with sophisticated instruments, machinery and equipments satisfying the norms of apex bodies. All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Indian Nursing Council (INC), Tamil Nadu Nurses & Midwives Council (TNNMC), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC), UGC [2(f) and 12(B) status] have recognized, approved, accredited and permitted to admit M.Sc. (Nursing), M.Pharm. & M.P.T. in P.G. and B.Sc. (Nursing), B.Pharm., B.P.T., B.Sc. (MLT) and B.Sc. (MRIT) students in U.G. courses on an yearly basis and the Institute is permanently affiliated to Pondicherry University which is a Central University established under an Act of Parliament. This Institution is also approved by BOME & BOEN for conducting the following Diploma Courses D.G.N.M., D.A.N.M., D.C.E.C., D.D.T. and D.M.L.T. Lateral entry programmes viz., P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing), B.Sc. (MLT), B.Sc. (MRIT) & B.Pharm. are also conducted. Ph.D. in Pharmacy and Ph.D. in Nursing programmes, approved by the Pondicherry University is also conducted in this Institute. 3
1. INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS A. ADMISSION THROUGH CENTAC Puducherry U.T. Candidates Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences (MTPG&RIHS) is offering Five U.G. degree courses i.e. B.Sc. (Nursing), B.P.T., B.Sc. (MLT), B.Sc. (MRIT) & B.Pharm. and Five Diploma courses i.e. Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM), Diploma in Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (DANM), Diploma in Clinical Echo Cardiography (DCEC), Diploma in Dialysis Technology (DDT) & Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT) courses for the Academic Year 2020-21. Candidates willing to take admission in this Institute Under Graduate and Diploma courses should apply online to CENTAC at https://www.centacpuducherry.in. CENTAC is the Centralized Admission Committee constituted by the Government of Puducherry for admission to various professional courses in the U.T. of Puducherry. After obtaining the Provisional Allotment Order from CENTAC the candidate should report at MTPG&RIHS for admission on or before the date specified in the allotment order. Selection of candidates is based on the marks obtained in the prescribed qualifying examinations. The usual reservation policy as prescribed by the Government of Puducherry will be followed in the allocation of seats. B. ADMISSION THROUGH MTPG&RIHS Post Graduate, Under Graduate Self-supporting seats (NRI, PY-Other State) Under Graduate Lateral Entry and Diploma Courses. The Application Forms for admission for the M.Sc. (Nursing), M.Pharm., M.P.T., U.G. NRI, Self-Supporting (UT of Puducherry/Other States), P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing), B.Pharm. (Lateral Entry), B.Sc. (MLT) Lateral Entry & B.Sc. (MRIT) Lateral Entry and DGNM (for DANM qualified Candidates) courses along with Information Brochure 2020-21 can be downloaded from Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences website http://mtihs.py.gov.in. The downloaded application form should be filled up by the candidate in his/her own handwriting and duly signed by the candidate. No other form of application is permitted. The candidates are advised to read the Information Brochure 2020-21, before filling the application form and ensure that no column is left unfilled. In the event of rejection of the application form, no correspondence will be sent. The status may be known from the Institute‘s website on publishing the merit list. The filled-in application forms, with recent Passport size self-attested Photograph pasted on the space provided, shall be considered only when submitted with necessary self-attested copies of certificates and Demand Draft (Candidate’s name and course applied should be written behind the DD) drawn from any Nationalized Bank, in favour of “The Dean, MTPG&RIHS” for application fee. In case of delay in the declaration of results or issue of original mark certificate of the qualifying examination by any University/Board, the candidates shall not wait but submit the application along with other enclosures, on or before the last date mentioned respectively. However, such candidates shall submit the self-attested copies of the mark certificate (The course applied shall be written on the right side top of the certificate copy) of the qualifying examination so as to reach the Dean’s office within 7 days from the date of declaration of results/the issue of the original certificate of the qualifying examination or before the date of counselling, whichever is earlier. In-service candidates must submit their application form along with “No Objection Certificate” from their Appointing Authority to the Office of the Dean before the last date mentioned. The certificates submitted by the candidates along with the filled-in application should be only in the formats provided in Information Brochure or the format issued by the respective authorities. C. NRI CANDIDATES The guidelines for NRI admission are as follows: An NRI student is one who has NRI status. Students who have studied their qualifying examination equivalent to 10+2 of India, from schools or colleges abroad (outside India) will also be considered as NRI student. Candidates should fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria to seek admission under Non Resident Indians (NRI) Category. The seats under NRI quota should be utilized by the children or wards of Bonafide NRI’s only. It may be noted that the admission procedure, application form and fees are different from the domestic students. 5
NRI Category As per the GO(MS) No.243/2014/H&FWD, dated 06-08-2014 “An Applicant who depends upon his/her Father/Mother/Brother/Sisters (inclusive of first cousins)/Husband /Wife/ Brother and Sisters (inclusive of first cousins) of Father or Mother/Half Brother/Half Sister/ Adopted Father or Adopted Mother or guardian (declared as the guardian of the candidate by the court as per provisions in The Guardian and Wards Act, 1890”) who is working abroad, will only be eligible to apply in the NRI category seats. Further, the Candidate should be of Indian origin settled in Foreign (OR) Candidate born in a foreign country and whose parents are of Indian citizen deputed abroad by Public Sector Undertaking (OR) Child of the Official of the Central/State Government on deputation abroad shall fall under the NRI category. This is subject to further orders, if any, from Government, regarding the matter. Process of Application and Admission To apply under this category the candidates will have to download the application form from the website http://mtihs.py.gov.in duly fill the same and submit along with the following documents: 1. Marks card / Transcript of the qualifying examination (English Translated). 2. Birth certificate or Proof of certificate for date of birth. 3. Copy of passport and VISA to enter the Country (Student VISA). 4. Proof of NRI status of Student / Sponsor. 5. Numerical grade (equivalence) certificate of the qualifying examination. 6. Recent passport size colour photograph (2 Nos.). 7. Sponsor’s postcard size colour photograph (1 No.). The candidate himself/herself should produce the proof for NRI or child of NRI with current year NRI certificate issued from the Indian embassy of concerned country along with valid passport and visa copies. Further they should have studied English as one of the subjects. Candidates seeking admission to the B.P.T. Degree course must have passed H.S.C. (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent thereto, with a minimum of 50% marks (40% of marks for OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/ 2.. B.P.T. BT/SC/ST candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Botany & Zoology. Further they should have studied English as one of the subjects and they must have passed the above four subjects individually. Candidates seeking admission of the B.Sc. (MLT) Degree course must have passed H.S.C. (Academic/Vocational) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu, or any other equivalent examination accepted by the University thereto, with a 3 B.Sc. (MLT) minimum of 50% marks (40% of marks for OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/ SC/ST candidates) in Part-III subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Botany & Zoology or Physics, foundation science and medical Laboratory assistance course and should have studied English as one of the subjects. Candidates seeking admission to the B.Sc. (MRIT) Degree course must have passed H.S.C. (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent 4 B.Sc. (MRIT) thereto, with a minimum of 45% marks (40% of marks for OBC/BCM/ MBC/EBC/BT/SC/ST candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Botany& Zoology. Further they should have studied English as one of the subjects. Candidates seeking admission to the B.Pharm. Degree course must have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the respective state/Central Government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as one of the 5 B.Pharm. subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (P.C.M.) and or Biology (P.C.B./P.C.M.B.) as optional subjects individually. Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations. 12
C. LATERAL ENTRY COURSES Sl. Name of the Eligibility No. Course 1 Post Basic Minimum educational qualification shall be Diploma in General Nursing . B.Sc. (Nursing) & Midwifery with a duration of not less than 3 Years of course of study, Recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. The minimum aggregate marks shall be 50% passing the Higher Secondary or an equivalent (10+2) examination recognized by the University for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 on or before 1986 will also be eligible for admission. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council. A male nurse trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of Midwifery in any one of the following areas: O.T. Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, TB Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neuro-Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, Orthopaedic Nursing. 2 B.Pharm. Minimum educational qualification shall be Diploma in Pharmacy of two Lateral Entry years duration from an institution Recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India, with minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Candidate should have completed 500 hours of hospital training and registered in any State Pharmacy Council. Passed the Higher Secondary or an equivalent (10+2) examination in Academic Stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Botany and Zoology/Mathematics/Computer Science (Vocational Stream and Open Schooling are not eligible). 5. COURSE WISE SELECTION PROCEDURE I. Selection procedure for P.G., U.G., Lateral Entry and Diploma courses A. POST GRADUATE COURSES (i) M.Sc. (Nursing) The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the merit marks, giving 50% weightage to the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination and 50% weightage to the Mother Theresa Institute Entrance Test [MTIET (PG)]–2020 entrance examination marks. The entrance examination will be conducted by Mother Theresa Post Graduate & Research Institute of Health Sciences (MTPG&RIHS), Gorimedu, Puducherry. (ii) M. Pharm. The Selection of candidates shall be based on a valid GPAT (All India Aptitude Test) percentile/score. In case of a tie in the GPAT score, the aggregate marks of the qualifying examination will be the criteria for ranking. The GPAT candidates need not appear for the MTIET (PG)-2020 entrance examination. The entrance examination will be conducted by Mother Theresa Post Graduate & Research Institute of Health Sciences (MTPG&RIHS), Gorimedu, Puducherry. When GPAT qualified candidates are not available, admission will be given to non-GPAT candidates of respective category on merit. The selection of Non-GPAT candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the merit marks, giving 50% weightage to the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination and 50% weightage to the MTIET (PG)–2020 entrance examination marks. In case of grade of grade points / CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks has to be furnished from the concerned University only. If not, Pondicherry University CGPA conversion table will be used for converting the grade points/CGPA to percentage marks. The speciality selection will be by the choice of the candidates as per merit list. For GPAT Qualified Candidates GPAT scholarship is not guaranteed by the Institution. (iii) M.P.T. The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the merit marks, giving 50% weightage to the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination and 50% weightage to the MTIET (PG)–2020 entrance examination marks. B. UNDER GRADUATE COURSES (i) B.Sc. (Nursing) / B.P.T. / B.Sc. (MRIT) admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examination (i.e. Biology/Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry) and normalizing them by the prescribed procedure. (ii) B.Sc. (MLT) admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examination (i.e. Biology/Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry) or Physics, Foundation Science and Medical Laboratory Assistance course and normalizing them by the prescribed procedure. (iii) B.Pharm. admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examination (i.e. Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following optional subjects: Biology/Botany & Zoology/Mathematics. For all Biology-based Degree courses, i.e. B.Sc. (Nursing)/B.P.T./B.Sc. (MLT)/B.Sc. (MRIT) admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examination (i.e. Biology/ Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry) and normalizing them by the prescribed procedure. C. LATERAL ENTRY COURSES (i) P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing) The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the merit marks, i.e. the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination (D.G.N.M.). (ii) B. Pharm. (Lateral Entry) The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination (D.Pharm.). (iii) B.Sc. (M.L.T.) Lateral Entry The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination (D.M.L.T.). (iv) B.Sc. (M.R.I.T.) Lateral Entry The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination (D.C.R.A.). D. DIPLOMA COURSES i) D.G.N.M. (After +2), D.A.N.M., D.C.E.C., D.D.T. and D.M.L.T.: The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination (H.S.C.). ii) D.G.N.M. (After D.A.N.M.): The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination (D.A.N.M.). 16
II. RANKING OF CANDIDATES: Selection of Candidates for admission to the courses will be based on the Merit list prepared by the Institute, based on the percentage of total marks (merit marks) obtained in the respective Qualifying Examinations. Ranking of the candidates will be done based on the ‘merit marks’ (rounded-off to three decimal places) arrived at, to a base of 100. III. PROCEDURE FOR “TIE BREAK” IN THE MERIT MARKS: When more than one candidate have got the same marks in the common merit list, the inter-se merit “among such candidates, for each course will be determined in the order of priority” as below: Order of priority for breaking the tie in the marks: i) Percentage of actual marks in Biology/Botany & Zoology ii) Percentage of actual marks in Physics iii) Percentage of actual marks in Chemistry iv) Date of Birth (Earlier born) v) Random number assigned IV. DISPLAY OF MERIT LIST The common merit list for the courses will be displayed in the Institute Website http://mtihs.py.gov.in and also on the notice board of the Institute’s main campus at Puducherry. No separate announcement will be made in the newspaper or communication sent to the candidates separately by post. V. COUNSELLING FOR ADMISSION: The Counselling and Allotment of seats for the Courses will be conducted only at the Puducherry Main campus of the Mother Theresa Post-Graduate & Research Institute of Health Sciences, Indira Nagar, Gorimedu, Puducherry–605 006. Candidates shall be called for counselling as per their merit through Counselling Call Letters. No change of date or time of counselling is permitted on any circumstances. The Institute shall not be responsible for any postal delay. Counselling will not be done in the absence of the candidate. Candidates who do not attend the counselling on the specified date and time will have to forego the claim of admission. The date and time for the counselling (Schedule) will be published in the institute website http://mtihs.py.gov.in, and individual call letters will be sent to the candidates. VI. VERIFICATION OF ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES: Candidates called for counselling shall be required to submit all the certificates in original for verification at the time of counselling. Candidates who fail to produce the required certificate in original shall not be considered. However, if a candidate has deposited the original Certificates to an Institution where he/she has already been admitted, a letter/bonafide certificate to that effect issued by the Head of the Institution should be produced only. In such cases the self-attested copies of certificates will be considered for verification, subject to production of all original certificates including Transfer Certificate within the time specified by the Admission Committee. 17
VII. SUBMISSION OF ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES: The original certificates submitted by the candidate during admission shall be returned only after completion of the Course. On discontinuation of the Course, the original Certificates will be returned as per the regulations of the Institute. Hence, the candidates are advised to take enough number of photocopies of the Certificates before submitting the originals for verification during counselling. VIII. Photocopies of the first page of the passport with the photograph and also the visa to enter the country (Student visa)–wherever/whichever applicable. 13. Accreditation certificate. 14. All the above documents are mandatory for submission to Pondicherry University and for the Institute’s record. 7. DETAILS OF RESERVATION AND SPECIAL ALLOCATION A. NATIONALITY A candidate seeking admission at MTPG&RIHS should be an Indian National. However, French Nationals residing in the U.T. of Puducherry and covered by the terms of the Treaty of Cession shall be treated on par with Indian Nationals, for the purpose of admission to all the courses. B. DOMICILE CRITERIA FOR U.T. OF PUDUCHERRY A candidate is considered to belong to the UT of Puducherry, if he/she satisfies at least one of the following domicile criteria (Refer Annexure – I for the Format of Certificates): i) The candidates or whose parent (either mother or father or both) or Guardian (in the case of children who have lost both the parents) has been residing continuously in this Union territory for at least five years immediately preceding the date of application. ii) Those who have passed SSLC/HSC or any other public examination and for that purpose had undergone academic studies continuously for 5 successive classes immediately preceding the qualifying examination (including the year of the qualifying examination) in recognized education institutions located in Puducherry Union Territory and having their residence in the Puducherry Union Territory for 5 years continuously during that period. 19
iii) Children of Central/State Government Servants/Defence Personnel /Central Paramilitary Forces/Employees of Public Sector Undertakings wholly or substantially run either by the Central Government or by the Puducherry UT administration posted and serving in the Puducherry UT for at least a minimum period of one year prior to the last date of submission of application. iv) Children of Natives of UT of Puducherry who have declared any place in the UT of Puducherry as their home town (Father &Mother) and so certified by their respective Heads of Office. (Applicable only for Government employees). Note: Nativity Certificate in the prescribed format has to been enclosed along with the admission application. v) Children of Defence Personnel who were killed or disabled in action and children of Central Government Servants/Puducherry UT Government Servants/Defence Personnel/Employees of Public Sector undertaking as referred in category (iii) who died while in service in the Puducherry UT. vi) French Nationals residing in the Puducherry UT and covered by the terms of the “Treaty of Cession” shall be treated on par with the candidates who produce the prescribed Puducherry UT residence certificate. Such French Nationals will not be required to produce residence certificate instead they should produce a certificate of registration issued for this purpose from the French Consulate at Puducherry. Note: Children of these French Nationals shall not be considered for admission under the quota of non-residents. C. Seats reserved/allocated under these categories will become operational, only if the minimum number of seats earmarked for each of these categories are not filled up under normal process of selection in any category. i) Other Backward Classes (OBC), Most Backward Classes (MBC), Extreme Backward Classes (EBC), Backward Classes Muslims (BCM) and Backward Tribes (BT) Candidates: Candidates claiming admission under these categories should enclose the recent EBC/BCM/BT certificate issued by an Officer of the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, not below the rank of Deputy Tahsildar. ii) Scheduled Caste (SC) Candidates Candidates claiming admission under this category should be Origin-SC candidates and should enclose the required recent certificate issued by an Officer of the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, not below the rank of Deputy Tahsildar. iii) Scheduled Tribe (ST) Candidates Candidates claiming admission under this category should belong to a caste which is recognized as Scheduled Tribe under “THE CONSTITUTION (PUDUCHERRY) SCHEDULED TRIBES ORDER. 2016” dated 22-12-2016 and should enclose the required certificate issued by an Officer of the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, Puducherry, not below the rank of Deputy Tahsildar. iv) Freedom Fighter Category (FF) Candidates claiming admission under this category should be Children/Grand Children of Freedom Fighters and they should enclose the necessary certificate issued by the Officer-in-charge, Freedom Fighters’ Cell, Government of Puducherry. Link birth certificate of the parent must be produced along with the FF certificate, in case of grandchildren. v) Person with disabilities (PwD) The Candidates seeking admission under this category should produce a full size photograph exhibiting the deformity. a) Eligibility Criteria for Person with Disabilities (for B.P.T., B.Sc. (MLT), B.Sc. (MRIT), B.Pharm. Courses). For eligibility under the Person with Disability Quota, locomotor disorder or lower limbs should be between 40% to 70%. b) Eligibility under Person with Disabilities for B.Sc. (Nursing) Course. i. Person with locomotor disorder of lower limbs between 40% to 50% only are eligible for nursing courses. ii. Colour Blind candidates should may be considered for admission to Nursing Courses subject to the condition that colour corrective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates as per the norms prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council. iii. The disability should be certified by a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board comprising of at least three specialists out of which two should be of the specialty concerned and the candidate has to present himself/herself before the Medical Board. The last valid Disability certificate of the candidate from a Medical Board should not be more than THREE MONTHS old from the date of submitting his/her certificate for disabled candidates. 21
Note: Candidate with any other DISABILITY other than the locomotor disability of the lower limb will not be considered for the admission into courses. Such application will be summarily rejected without any intimation to the candidates. The decision of the Dean of MTPG&RIHS, Puducherry, in this regard will be final. vi) Ex-Servicemen Category (Ex-SM) Ex-Servicemen/Widows of Ex- Servicemen/ Wards of Ex-Servicemen who are registered in the Department of Sainik Welfare, Government of Puducherry, come under this category. Candidates claiming admission under this category should enclose necessary certificate issued by the Director/Competent Authority, Department of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry. vii) Meritorious sports person category (MSP): Candidates claiming admission under this category should have participated in State/ National/International level sports and games and to that effect should enclose the necessary certificates, countersigned by the Inspector of Physical Education, Government of Puducherry. To ensure that only Sports persons of excellent calibre and those who have showed consistency in sports activities get benefited under the Sports Quota seats, the selection of candidates under Sports Quota will be considered in the order of priorities as given below. ANNEXURE – II DETAILS OF MERITORIOUS SPORTS PERSON CATEGORY The highest achievement of the candidates in only one annual tournament under the listed sports disciplines in a year will be considered awarding marks. Selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained by the candidates following the guidelines given in the Government of Puducherry G.O. Ms.53 dated 24th May 2012 and G.O. Ms. No. 6 dated 14th March, 2018 of Chief Secretariat (Higher and Technical Education), Puducherry. GENERAL CONDITIONS: For Consideration of candidates seeking admission under the category of Sports Person he/she should enclose attested photo copies of participation certificates and the certificate in the prescribed forms issued by the relevant sports authorities along with the application. Participation/Achievements in sports/games shown in the list alone, immediately preceding five years to the year for which admission is sought for will be taken into account. National / State Level Championships/Tournaments conducted by Organisations/Federations recognized by Indian Olympic Association/Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, New Delhi alone will be considered for award of marks (Recognition by the Indian Olympic Association/Ministry of Youth and Sports, New Delhi should be relevant to the years concerned). The relevant attested copies of the certificates issued by the appropriate authorities as detailed in the G.O Ms.53 dt.24.05.2012 are to be submitted along with the application. Open /Invitational Tournaments of any kind will not be considered. 27
For Tennis Achievements of Top 3 players by his/her position in the ranking list published by ATTA based on the ranking rules and the final rankings of previous 4 years will be awarded marks for achievements and participation (Necessary forms from Associations are to be enclosed) For Cricket the Annual Official Championship/Tournaments conducted within the country under the auspices of BCCI at District/State National Level alone will be taken into consideration for that year. The participation/achievements of candidates with nativity of Puducherry Union Territory and who represented Union territory of Puducherry alone are eligible for marks under National Category. Only Union territory of Puducherry candidates are eligible to apply for admission under Sports Quota and only the KVS/NVS/CBSE Schools within Puducherry are eligible for marks. All the achievement certificates are to be supported necessarily by the relevant participation Certificates and appropriate Form/Certificates. No further enclosures of certificates will be entertained after the last date for submission of completed application. Required number of candidates will be called to appear for an interview before the Common committee for Engineering/Medicine for verification of the Originals, followed by counselling after ranking. If any candidate fails to produce the requisite original certificates / forms, during counselling his / her place will be allotted to the candidate next in rank and so on. The consequential vacancy at the end of the rank list will be filed up from among the additional candidates according to their ranks. Counselling for the eligible candidates will be done before the start of the main Counselling as per general merit. A Candidate can utilize the sports quota only once for these admissions. A Committee will be constituted to scrutinize the applications received under this category and will rank the candidates based on the marks assigned to the certificate enclosed along with the application and the sports merit list will be published in the institute website will before the counselling for the sport category seats. The final authority to settle all disputes in the matter of selection under Sports Quota will be the Dean of the Institute. 28
