On the Court Advanced to the Western Conference Finals for the 1st time in franchise history by knocking out the L.A. Clippers in 6 games in the first round and then the OKC Thunder in 5 in the Western Conference Semifinals Tony Allen was selected to NBA All- Defensive First Team for the 2nd consecutive season (his 3rd consecutive all-defensive team selection) Mike Conley was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team Marc Gasol was named to the NBA All- Defensive Team as well as being named the KIA NBA Defensive Player of the Year Zach Randolph was named to the 2012-2013 NBA All-Star Team
Regionalism The Grizzlies are making an active attempt to grow the range of people who consider the Grizzlies their hometown team Last September the Grizzlies Caravan visited Nashville, St. Louis, Jackson, Miss., Jackson, Tenn., and Little Rock. Fans in those cities had a chance to meet Quincy Pondexter, team mascot Grizz, the Grizz Girls and the Claw Crew The team partnered with the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau to offer fans at each regional stop entertainment and prizes including an opportunity to win a “Weekend to Memphis Getaway Package” for two

Radio All 90 Grizzlies games broadcast ESPN 92.9 FM, the Grizzlies flagship radio partner, reaches the entire Mid-South with 50,000 watts The Grizzlies Radio Network broadcasts each game to affiliates in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama and Missouri allowing Grizzlies fans throughout the Mid-South to enjoy Grizzlies basketball

Sport Tourism in the Mid-South For two straight weeks in May 2013, the entire sports world was tuned into Memphis with the Western Conference Finals and the FedEx St. Jude Classic According to the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau, 55,235 people from outside the region visited Memphis for sport tourism in 2012, a 43% increase from 2011. The events produced 39,610 room nights and $18.2 million in economic impact Along with the Grizzlies, the Memphis Tigers basketball helps attract these visitors The 2014 NCAA men’s basketball regional finals is expected to bring in 18,000 visitors, 5,800 room nights, and a $5 million economic impact Memphis will be home to the inaugural 2014 AAC Men’s Basketball Tournament

Grizzlies TEAM Mentoring Program In 2011, the Grizzlies Foundation launched Grizzlies TEAM Mentoring, a school- based mentoring program that pairs 3 volunteer mentors with 9 students to form one TEAM Partnered with Facing History and Ourselves to develop a middle school curriculum that combines academics, life skills and enrichment opportunities Teams meet weekly, exploring topics ranging from leadership and civic engagement to health and financial literacy The program services 180 students in four Memphis public charter schools
