For 70 years Rugby Theatre has provided high-quality entertainment, enjoyment, laughs, frights, thrills and fun thanks entirely to all our expert, talented and enthusiastic members, all of whom are volunteers. We’ve been hugely encouraged by the audiences who have turned up, show after show to be thrilled, entertained, startled, amused and provoked, with all the atmosphere and emotions that every live show creates. Our standards of performance, production and presentation rival any that you’ll find in most regional professional theatres. Our theatre is warm and friendly, with comfy seating, clear sound and good views of the stage. It’s a great night out! September brings us Alan Ayckbourne’s dark comedy, Absurd Person Singular. Whilst October brings us a chilling play called The Haunting. Written by Hugh Janes, using the ghost stories of Charles Dickens, it will be a great way to approach Halloween. Also in October, our poetry group Welcome to our next What’s On opens its doors for a poetry evening Guide which takes us all the way in our studio style space in Central through to January’s pantomime in Hall. Our writing group also have 2020. an evening planned in October so please keep your eye out for more In June, we have The DMU Gospel details nearer the time.
