VIBRANT AND CONNECTED The centre of a new world class entertainment precinct and the centrepiece of Sydney’s vision for the future – it’s all happening at Darling Harbour. The gleaming new ICC Sydney will be the heart of this emerging and vibrant precinct. It’s flanked by the brand new ICC Sydney Hotel and Darling Square, a new city neighbourhood to the south and the waters of Cockle Bay to the north. Connected to and through the city by a bustling boulevard, centred around the expanded green space of Tumbalong Park and glittering harbour at Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour is a place for locals and visitors, of all ages, to enjoy day and night. Darling Harbour is only a short walk from local attractions such as Chinatown, Central Station and UTS with its iconic new Frank Gehry building. It’s also just one minute walk to Sydney’s light rail network and bus connections; seven minutes to Central Station and Town Hall; and 10 minutes to the new financial services hub at Barangaroo. The Boulevard, approximately 20 metres wide, runs directly through all of this, connecting the harbour to Central. It creates a new space to showcase the best Sydney has to offer, and links to the new east-west connections of Tumbalong Place and Harbourside Place. Darling Harbour is the only place to experience the excitement of a red-carpet event, the bustle of a top ticket industry conference. This is where the atmosphere of a festival of lights, sound, film, food or music will radiate throughout the year. This is where people gather and get together in large or small groups, enjoy fantastic food, and soak up the lively atmosphere of an exciting new Darling Harbour. 14 15
