LILA - Landezine International Landscape Award 2023 Details and step-by-step instructions for submitting entries to LILA for landscape architecture offices
Landezine is calling offices from the field of landscape architecture to submit entries to the seventh edition of LILA – Landezine International Landscape Award. Why Submitting? All entries will be published on LILA website on its own page with full material. There are more than 50 possible recognitions (shortlists, special mentions, awards). All shortlisted entries will be published on the front-page of LILA website. Winners will be promoted on Landezine all-year round and also in our newsletter What to Submit? Landscape architects may submit any number of completed works relevant to landscape architecture. The last phase of the project must be completed in 2019 or later. The below categories are not definitive; the jury will be instructed to only award outstanding quality. The members of the jury reserve the right not to give award in a category if they think it is not possible. On the other hand, they may give additional awards if they think an outstanding project can’t be awarded in other categories. 1. PUBLIC PROJECT Interesting and exceptional publicly accessible social spaces. Squares, parks, waterfronts ... 2. INFRASTRUCTURE Landscapes that were primarily designed to solve a technical issue with or without human-scale layer. Publicly accessible or not. Traffic, energy production, large scale water management ... 3. RESIDENTIAL HOUSING Collective housing, questioning the design of the semi-private open spaces for communities. 4. PRIVATE GARDENS Private residential gardens for single family houses. 5. CAMPUSES AND CORPORATE LANDSCAPES University, corporate campuses and gardens. 6. HOSPITALITY Open spaces for short term stays (tourism, hotels, resorts, bars and similar). 7. SCHOOLS AND PLAYGROUNDS - open spaces for schools, kindergardens and similar. 8. OTHER - cemeteries, memorials, temporary projects, exhibitions, experimental projects, multi-media projects ... The jury may give one or more special awards to rare typologies or other achievements by landscape architects that seldom come around or in any way can’t be awarded in other project categories. NEW One of the winning projects in the above categories will be selected by the jury as the Project Of The Year. 9. NEW - REVISITED - At least 15 years old projects presented with new photos showing how well the project has aged. The last phase of the project needs to be completed before 2008. 10. OFFICE OF THE YEAR AWARD 1 Award, selected by Landezine editors from Landezine member offices published on landezine.com. NEW It is no longer possible to submit to office profiles to LILA. 11. Revisited One of the winners in the above category will be selected as Project of the Year Registration and Submission Timeline Register early to catch low fees, submit material later (on or before 18 May). Step 1: First you will need to register your office and pay the registration fee according to the registration deadlines below. Step 2: Then submit the material regardless of your registration date, but no later than Thursday, 18 May 2023. In other words, you may register now, but send the material on or before 18 May 2023. EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Register on or before Thursday, 16 March 2023 Registration fee 150 euros per entry/project REGULAR REGISTRATION: Friday 17 March - Thursday 20 April 2023, Registration fee 200 euros per entry/project LATE REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 21 April - Thursday 18 May, 2023, Registration fee 250 euros per entry/project Submission deadline is the same for all participants and will not be extended: Thursday 18 May, 2023 - early June: Shortlist announced - late June: Winners announced and promoted on Landezine *Offices with active Landezine membership will be automatically considered for the office award category. Furthemore, offices with an active Landezine membership can enjoy a 25% discount for the overall registration fee when submitting projects to project award categories. Step By Step Registration In the first four steps you will complete the registration. In the following three steps you will complete the material submission. 1. Visit The Registration page to begin: https://landezine-award.com/product/lila-registration-fee-offices/ Select the number of entries you are submitting and click “Add to cart”. the number of projects you are submitting to LILA 2. On the cart page, check if the number of entries matches the number of registration fees. Then click “Proceed to checkout” 3. On the Check-out page, fill in the form and pay the registration fee. There are three payment options at the end: Credit Cards, PayPal and bank transfer. If you pay with credit card or PayPal, you will receive the submission folders and the invoice by email immediately. If you select Direct bank transfer, you can send us proof of transaction and we will send you the submission folders. 4. Once the payment is completed, you will receive an email with the invoice and link to download the submission folders. Please check spam as well. Step By Step Submission Once you decide which projects you wish to submit to LILA (or/and office profile), please fill the submission folders with material according to the instructions and send them to us no later than on 18 May 2023. 5. unzip the folders that you received in the 6. start with putting the required material in the folders copy/paste the exemplary folder as many times as you need (depends how many projects you wish to submit). Leave the project folders that you don’t need empty or delete them. If you wish to send only one project, you can do so and leave other folders empty. insert your order number (from fill the folders with material and the the registration confirmation don’t forget to fill text file with info required. Once you’re done, compress the folders into zip or rar and send them to lila@landezine.com via wetransfer.com before the submission deadline on 18 May 2023. This way you will receive confirmation email once we download your submission. That’s it!
