Auxiliary Services Newsletter Letter From Margot After the excitement of welcoming new Tigers to campus in August, it feels good to be back in the swing of things with the start of classes and all of the returning Tigers back on campus now too. The building is extremely busy, espe- cially in Tiger Lair (LSU Dining) and our meeting rooms (Event Management). We don’t want to miss anything, so please take time to provide feedback to us about anything that you think needs attention, could be improved, or is something you like! No matter is too small, as we know the details are what matter. You can communicate with us through our website link, asfacilities@lsu.edu, or any of us in person. We appreciate feedback! LSU Dining started off the school year with the unveiling of their new teaching kitchen during Bengal Bound at Late Night LSU in the Student Union. We are also excited with the new buffet offerings at the Club at Union Square. Stay tuned for new furniture and a paint refresh coming to the Club later this semester. And donut miss the new gourmet delights from LSU Dining’s new partner Thee Heavenly Donuts at City Pork in the Design School and all CC’s locations on campus. Finally, we are thrilled that Panera Bread is now open in the Patrick F Taylor building! As some of you may have heard, we bid farewell last month to Kurt Caillouet, Director of Facilities and Operations who worked at LSU for over fourteen years. During this transition time, please forward any issues needing attention to me, margotc@lsu.edu. I hope every- one has a smooth transition from summer to the academic year. And get your purple and gold ready to go because of course, September also means football! Geaux Tigers! Margot H. Carroll, Assistant Vice President Auxiliary Services

LSU Dining Auxiliary Services Announcements Updated Free Speech Alley and Circle Policies Due to a legislative act that was signed this past Louisiana legislative session, the University has reevaluated policies related to outdoor space used for free speech. Therefore, the policies and procedures for Free Speech Alley and Free Speech Circle have been updated. Those areas are available for expressive activities, including all forms of peaceful assembly, protest, speech, distribution of literature, carrying signs, and circulating petitions. This expressly excludes commercial activities where individuals or groups are being compensated or attempting to advertise, market, or accrue financial gain to any individual, corporation, business, or organization. Individuals or groups are permitted to use these areas without reservation or approval. For Free Speech Alley, we will continue to provide one table per reservation for LSU Departments or Registered Student Organizations if requested by our deadline of 9:00 a.m. two business days prior. Free Speech Circle can no longer be reserved and equipment will not be provided by LSU Auxiliary Services. However, individuals or groups wishing to occupy this space, may do so on a first-come basis. If you have any questions or if you would like to receive the full updated policies, please email Rachel Henry at rshenry@lsu.edu. Auxiliary Showcase We will be highlighting all areas of our unit on November 13th at the Auxiliary Services Showcase! Auxiliary Services Highlights CONGRATULATIONS! Congratulations Chloe for completing the 2018 class of LEAD LSU! LEAD LSU is a leadership development program for high performing and emerging leaders at the university. The program focuses on building and strengthening leadership skills which support the University’s strategic objectives and enhances the level of knowledge, skills, and abilities of LSU’s most important resources, its employees. Great Job! The Tiger Card Office produced over 5,000 Tiger Cards this summer and received positive feedback from orientation leaders and incoming students. Throughout this busy season, Tiger Card student workers who displayed excellent service skills earned entries into a prize drawing. Kaitlyn, Kaylee and Hannah had fun choosing their numbers for the drawing. Great Job to all of our student worker staff for a successful summer! Bengal Bound & Late Night LSU | Thank You!
