Kid Krazy Pandemic Policies and Procedures for Staff, Children, and Families 2021-2022 School Year Pandemic Policy *Please note that this policy supersedes our general school policy and may change throughout the school year as updated information from the CDC and the DOH are provided. In addition, please note that Kid Krazy will always side on caution and at times our policy maybe stricter than the CDC and DOH. Always follow the Kid Krazy pandemic policy. Policy Highlights: Vaccination: All staff are required to be fully vaccinated Entering the School: 1. Staggered drop off and pick up at the entrance. – A Scheduled time will be given to parent prior to the beginning of the school year. While parents are waiting outside, they must maintain 6 ft social distancing. 2. Mask must be worn while waiting outside or entering the classroom by parents, teachers, and students in our Caterpillar (3K) and Butterfly (4K) classrooms. Our tots and bees do not wear masks. 2. Only staff and children are permitted inside the school 3. All staff and children fill out daily health screening assessment prior to entering school (DOH mandate) on Brightwheel app. 4. All staff, and children must have temperature taken at drop off (DOH mandate) and recorded on Brightwheel – If fever is detected, entrance will not be permitted and child must have COVID test and negative results must be given prior to child returning. 5. No non-essential visitors admitted into the school. 6. Staff, Children, (and others when necessary), will wipe their shoes on the disinfecting mats at entrance of classrooms. ( We will no longer have in-door and out-door shoes. Our children will be wearing shoes that will stay on throughout the day... except our Tumble Tots) 7. Upon entering our school... All must sanitize their hands immediately upon entering the school/classroom. 6. Strollers: 1. @ 21st location, No Strollers, scooters, or bikes permitted to be left inside the school. Unfortunately we do not have any space in the classrooms. 2. @ 27th location, we request that our families not leave any strollers, scooters, or bikes inside our school’s lobby in order to limit how many families enter our lobby area, as well as help the drop off transition for our teachers. However, we understand there are families who walk a long distance with more than 1 child and cannot return the stroller back home due to work schedule and may need to leave a stroller inside our lobby. We will permit this with the following procedure: • Strollers must be light weight, such as an umbrella stroller, folded and hung can be left on the stroller bars. No non hanging, heavy stroller can be left on the floor in the lobby due to Fire Dept. Regulations. • Parents must wait till their child has been picked up by their teacher and has left the lobby and entered their classroom prior to entering the lobby and hanging the stroller.
• Parents must exit the lobby immediately after hanging and cannot linger as other children and staff need to use the lobby area. • Again, please keep strollers and other transport items at home when possible, during our continued effort to maintain the health and wellbeing of our staff and children. Our staff truly appreciates each family's efforts. Sanitizing and Cleaning: 1. Sensory (no touch) sanitizers placed at lobby and in each classroom 2. Sensory (no touch) soap dispensers in all bathrooms. 3. Tables, chairs, and other hard surfaces and hard toys and materials will be disinfected multiple times throughout the day. 4. Playground gym and equipment will be sanitized before and after each classroom use. 5. Cots and cribs are sanitized daily after use. Sheets will go home twice a week (Wednesday and Friday) to be laundered 6. Doorknobs and handles are disinfected multiple times throughout the day 7. Toys, once seen in a child’s mouth will be washed immediately. Classroom Health/Safety Measures: 1. Air purifier with HEPA in each classroom 2. NO toys from home 3. Children and staff will disinfect the bottom of their shoes upon entering the classroom with a shoe cleaning mat. (No longer switching shoes) 4. Children will not share, but rather have their own personal box which will have pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, ruler, etc. 5. Teachers will maintain social distancing from one another unless an emergency arises. 6. Teachers will remain in the same classroom daily...However, when necessary, as required by the DOH to maintain proper staff/child ratio, if a teacher is out sick and the ratio must be maintained, a teacher will move from one classroom to another to help support that classroom. The movement will be documented. Masks: 1. All Staff must wear masks at all times ( The purpose is both for safety as well as being role models for our students) 2. Mask must be worn by our Caterpillar and UPK students. Exception is when playing outside. As per the DOH, children do not need to wear mask outside at play. 3. Masks are not required for Tots and Bees in the classroom. (CDC does not recommend children 2 and under to wear mask) 4. The staff understands the wearing of mask can be challenging for our young learners, but are committed, as with many other challenging behaviors, to guide our students in understanding the importance of mask wearing and support them in that effort. We have learned during our school year that our students are able to easily adjust to mask wearing.
Lunch and snack: 1. No communal or family style lunch or snacks 2. Children will wash their hands before and after meals 3. Lunch and snacks are packed individually Playground/ Outdoor: 1. We will have outdoor play daily when weather is permissible... Mask are not required for our Caterpillar and Butterflies 2. Playground gym and equipment will be sanitized before and after each classroom use. Nap Time: 1. All cots and cribs are sanitized daily after use. 2. Only 1 fitted crib sheet is permitted. No top blanket or pillows 3. Sheets will be placed into a zip lock bag after use. (Please bring in your child’s sheet in a zip lock bag with their name on it) 4. Sheets will go home twice a week (Wednesday and Friday) to be laundered. Fresh sheets must be brought in the following day. 5. Children will be spaced out as much as possible with their bodies being head to toe from one another. 6. No pillows or soft toys for naptime. (please let us know if your child uses a “lovey” during naptime and we will find a way to help them acclimate) Bathroom and Diapering: 1. Toilets, faucets, and diaper tables are sanitized after each use. 2. Hands are washed after each use. Policy and Procedure Details: Children: 1. Daily mandatory health screening assessment on Brightwheel. 2. Child’s Temperature will be checked daily upon entering school. If child shows a temperature of 99 or higher using the touchless thermometer, that child temperature will be checked again using a touch thermometer. If the child shows a fever of over a 100, the child will not be allowed to enter the school and must be seen by a doctor and tested for Covid. 3. Wellness check – Even if no fever is indicated,Kid Krazy reserves the right to not admit a child if any flu-like symptoms are noted, such as fever, coughing, yellow/green nasal discharge, or an overall tiredness and unusual behavior... If after admittance and any previous mentioned symptoms are noted, the parent will be called, and the child must be picked up. 4. All Children will be picked up at the entrance by a teacher and brought into their classroom. Drop off time will be scheduled in advance. 5. Upon entering the classroom, children will use hand sanitizer. 6. Children will learn frequent hand washing and sanitizing when necessary.
7. Our Tots and Bees will not be wearing masks. However, our Caterpillar and Butterflies will be wearing masks in the classroom. We know that wearing masks can be challenging for some students, our teachers are committed to finding ways to help our students understand why masks are important as well as creating a comfort level for mask use. 8. At dismissal, a teacher will bring out students at their scheduled time and parents will sign out through Brightwheel 9. Children exhibiting any Covid symptoms will be removed from the school and if tested positive must quarantine as guided by the CDC and DOH. 10. Children will be permitted back to the school after completing the minimum DOH quarantine guidelines and with a negative test. Families: 1. Parents are required to fill out their child’s daily health screening assessment before arrival at the school through Brightwheel. 2. Parents will drop off their child at entrance at their scheduled time whereby a teacher will come out and pick up child. 3. Parents will sign in and sign out their child through Brightwheel 4. Parents will maintain social distancing outside the school building as they wait with mask on...New families, please be prepared, particularly in the beginning of the school year, that your scheduled time may have delays. Every child transitions differently and some children may need extra help and support from their parent and teacher to separate and bring into the classroom. We anticipate the first 2 weeks to have delays... We have had, in this past year, experience transitioning our children into the classroom and have discovered our students do better transitioning when dropped off outside vs parents dropping off in the classroom 5. If you are showing any symptoms of COVID-19, or are confirmed with COVID, please inform the school, as well as keep your child home during your quarantine period... Please know, any health information is kept private and will not be shared with other families. 6. No Toys or any other items from home into school 7. Naptime crib size sheets will be going home every Wednesday and Friday... New sheets will be brought in the following day. Staff: In addition to the normal daily responsibility each teacher has in educating, caring, and monitoring the well being of their students. Staff must now: 1. Staff must fill out daily health screening assessment before arrival to school 2. Staff will have their temperature taken before entering. Temperatures of 100 or above and staff are required to go home. 3. If staff has been confirmed with Covid, they must quarantine at home as directed by the DOH and CDC. (see below guidelines) 4. Upon entering the school, staff will sanitize their hands 5. Before entering the classroom, staff will switch from home shoes to school shoes. Home shoes are placed in a sealed bag. 6. Upon entering and leaving a classroom, staff will sanitize their hands. 7. Staff is required to wear mask 8. Staff will monitor and execute proper handwashing and sanitizing of students and equipment and furniture throughout the day.
Other Important Items: 1. Testing for COVID- will not be required to enter school. 2. School Tours: Only virtual tours will be permitted at the school for prospective families 3. Birthday Celebration – No Birthday cakes or cupcakes or giftbags can be brought into school. Our teachers and your child’s friends will make your child feel special on their day! School Action Plan if Positive Covid test in Classroom. 1. All Students in the classroom must quarantine for 10 days and must test negative prior to returning to school. 2. Classroom will automatically switch to remote instruction. 3. Once a positive test result is confirmed, all families in the school will be notified. 4. The quarantine goes under “emergency closing” in our Parent Manual. Tuition is still paid while the classroom is in quarantine. Staff will continue to work remotely and will continue to be paid during this period. Travel and Quarantine and Testing: Staff, Families – Please notify administration of any travel plans and review quarantine needs at the time you are traveling. As we all know, we are still in uncertain and constantly changing times with covid. Kid Krazy reserves the right to quarantine vaccinated staff and parents at anytime due to updated reports from the CDC and the DOH Domestic Travel CDC Domestic Travel Guideline: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019- ncov/travelers/travel-during-covid19.html... The following are general guidelines. 1. Vaccinated Staff and Parents do not need to quarantine when traveling in low covid states. 2. Vaccinated staff and parents will need to quarantine for 10 days and test negative prior to returning when traveling in high covid positivity states. 3. Unvaccinated children must quarantine for 10 days and test negative before returning. 4. Families who travel in family car and stays in family pod, do not need to quarantine. (As an example, if you own a weekend house in PA and your family is traveling and staying together, you do not need to quarantine) International Travel Requirement: CDC International Travel Guidelines: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/international-travel-during-covid19.html 1. All staff, parents, or child must quarantine for 10 days and test negative to return to school.
