A view of the special show of Graphic Prints and Original Editions in Hall 1 Special Show of Graphic Prints The exhibiting galleries submit top-class prints from their galleries’ programmes for this special show. A jury consisting of members of the art KARLSRUHE advisory board curates the submitted prints and thus ensures the high quality of the special show, which features woodcuts, etchings, litho- graphs and silkscreen prints. Many of today’s internationally renowned collectors began by acquiring graphic prints and original editions. Affordably priced graphic prints and multiples offer opportunities to become more familiar with Classic Modern and Contem- porary art. The diversity of the medium is demonstrated by the presentation of prints at art KARLSRUHE, where approximately 200 square metres of floor space are devoted to exhibitors’ saleable prints and multiples, most of which are produced in small series. Heinz Mack: Kleine Expression (2018), Druck mit 22 Hans-Peter Haas | Foto: Jürgen Burkhardt Sieben auf Bütten - Hans-Peter Haas © VG Bild- Kunst, Bonn 2019 Special Exhibition: Hans-Peter Haas Collection – Masterpieces of Serigraphy from Ackermann to Vasarely “Hans-Peter Haas (born in 1935), the German protagonist of screen printing, caught the art virus early in life. This pre- cision printer, who still works actively in Leinfelden-Echter- dingen in Baden-Württemberg, was long ago awarded the Federal Cross of Merit and is repeatedly recommended by one artist to another. His list of clients ranges from Salvador Dalí and Max Ernst to the ZERO artists, and he has earned a unique global reputation thanks to the outstanding crafts- manship of the editions that produces. According to the painter and sculptor Heinz Mack, “Hans- Peter Haas is the printer for artists – and the artist among printers.” Haas is also regarded as an artist among collec- tors. At art KARLSRUHE, you can view a selection of the treasures that he has received over the past six decades from all these artists, now brought together by a single foundation. Hans-Peter Haas is very pleased “because such a show means again approaching the artists whom I was privileged to meet in my life and with whom I have often been able to collaborate. Each meeting was an unforgettable encounter.” Hall 1
