3 8 - 11 FRENCH COURSE How to promote language learning for children… Our qualified professors offer an approach to teaching that awakens and develops the child’s interest in the French language. Professors apply an active learning approach adapted to young leaners that encourages acquisition of basic grammatical rules while prioritizing the development of their communication in French through stimulating pedagogic activities. CLASS STRUCTURE • Standard course • 20 lessons of ’45 minutes per week • From Monday to Friday (except on the first Monday of their stay which is dedicated to the placement test) • From 9:00 am to 12:30 pm (30 min break) • 15 students maximum in a class. WHERE DO CLASSES TAKE PLACE? Lessons take place in our classrooms located directly on campus.
4 8 - 11 FULL BOARD ACCOMMODATION Students are accommodated on Campus Horticole. A large and modern campus located on the east side of Antibes in a quiet area surrounded by greenery, including the following: • Accommodation in shared (4 students) rooms with common facilities situated on each floor (showers, sinks and toilets). Closet available in the room, students are required to bring a small lock in order to lock closet. • All facilities on site: classrooms, accommodation, a large self-service restaurant, a mobile swimming pool, outdoor sports grounds (football, volleyball, basketball), and auditorium for gatherings/entertainment evenings. • Full board: All meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner (buffet style) taken in our self-service restaurant. Packed lunch (picnic style) on weekends during excursions. IMPORTANT NOTES Disposable bed linen provided and changed weekly. Kids are free to bring their own for more comfort. Towels are not provided. A light cleaning is done each day and a thorough clean weekly. Students are responsible for their rooms and must keep them reasonably clean and tidy. Room access is restricted (schedule posted on site) for safety and security reasons and also to facilitate cleaning.
5 8 - 11 WEEKLY ACTIVITY PROGRAM On their arrival, the students receive a welcome pack including a weekly program of activities (sample on p.7). 2 HALF-DAY EXCURSIONS PER WEEK: Cannes: Famous for its luxury hotels, red carpet film festivals, and attracting a celebrity/international crowd each year. The visit lasts about 1h and includes a stroll through the old town, the “Suquet” mountain with the sightseeing, the Film Festival Palace, the harbour and the “Croisette” beach. OR Nice and Treasure Hunt: The students will love the labyrinth of the small streets of the old town to discover the Provencal style. The best place to organize a big treasure hunt. The visit lasts 1 hour and includes: Place Massena, the Promenade des Anglais, the old town and its shops, the Cours Saleya... OR Marineland: One of the biggest oceanariums in the world. Students spend around 2h30 in the in the park enjoying numerous spectacles with whales, dolphins, etc. OR Grasse, Fragonard and Florian: • Visit of a perfume factory: Grasse is the perfume capital of the world, it dominates vast plains perfumed by the roses, jasmine and olive trees, making this city popular all around the world. The excursion to Grasse includes the visit of a perfumery led by a professional guide and expert in perfumery and its history. After discovering the manufacturing techniques (from flower picking to packaging) and history of the precious elixirs, kids can test their nose with an olfactory game. Then they will visit the city with the cathedral. • Confiserie Florian: This artisanal confectionery, located in the heart of the Gorges du Loup, makes discover the making candies from the flowers of the region: violets, roses, poppies etc. During the visit, the guide explains the manufacturing processes by showing the crystallization of the flowers and visit the workshops. The tour ends with a tasting of all the products marketed by this confectionery. Kids spend 1h30 in each factory and then they have about 30 minutes to visit the old town of Grasse.
6 8 - 11 1 SPORT AFTERNOON PER WEEK: Our camp counsellors also propose different games and activities for students to participate in such as: sports tournaments, dance classes, water aerobics, ping-pong, and more! 1 SAILING AFTERNOON PER WEEK: One weekly sailing lesson taught and run by a professional sailing school. 1 FULL-DAY EXCURSION PER WEEK (ON THE WEEK-ENDS): Aquasplash: The largest water park on the French Riviera with numerous pools. Students have the whole day to enjoy this aquatic park (11 am to 5 pm). OR Monaco and the Oceanographic Museum: The Principality of Monaco is a city of beauty and royalty. Kids will love the Oceanographic Museum with dozens of tanks featuring all sorts of aquatic creatures from the ocean. The tour includes the visit of the royal palaces, the cathedral, the Royal Gardens, and the Oceanographic Museum. OR Fun Park: A theme park including different water attractions and inflatable structures for kids to play! Students spend about 2h30 in the park enjoying the different attractions and games proposed. EVENING ENTERTAINMENT: A «barbecue» or themed meal, disco party, games, cabarets, shows, etc. IMPORTANT NOTES • According to the school activities’ schedule the full day excursion may be organized on Sunday. The free day then takes place on Saturday. • Activities and excursions are mandatory. • After each excursion students have some free time to enjoy the location on their own. They are always accompanied and supervised by our monitors. • Students can go to the beach accompanied and supervised by our animators.

8 8 - 11 TRANSFERS Transfers are only included during the week-end : NOTE : • Nice airport Extra fee applies for transfers on week days (p.10) • Antibes train station SECURITY AND SUPERVISION • Students are supervised by our camp counselors who are on the premises round the clock and ready to help and give information. • Students are expected to bring with them a small padlock to lock their closets. We advise students to keep their money with our camp counselors, who have set up a request system to control spending and avoid kids misplacing their money. • Security 24/7. • Students do not have authorization to go out without supervision. • Animations are organized on campus during their free periods other than the planned activities and excursions.
