Summer Theatre Camps 2020 camps for students of all ages! Our programs are designed to help participants develop socially, emotionally and of course theatrically! Whether your student is new to theatre, or a seasoned young actor, they are sure to have a great time while learning more about the arts. various theatrical elements such as; acting, improvisation, choreography, dialects, and more! Students of any experience level are welcome in each and every session. To ensure that our students get a true theatre experience, each session demonstrate what they have learned throughout the week. Week 1 June 15th - 19th Puppy Power! Calling all Paw Patrol fans! Do you have what it takes to help Ryder save the day? Students will 8:30 am – 12:30 pm develop their own characters and costumes, and Ages 3-5 learn that it takes teamwork to make it all happen. Audition Prep Learn skills needed to audition successfully for musical theatre productions. Emphasis will be on 8:30 am – 12:30 pm developing confidence and material for future Ages 6-10 auditions. Disney Villain Why be good when you can be bad? Celebrate Academy Disney’s greatest villains with us! Campers will develop a better understanding of character traits, 1:30 – 5:30 pm and will design their own villain in the process! Ages 6-10 Welcome to the 60’s From Hairspray to All Shook Up, the stage cant get enough of the music from the 60’s. These rising 1:30 – 5:30 pm stars will perform favorites like “Mama I’m A Big Girl Ages 11 and older Now.” Week 2 June 22nd - 26th Sing-A-Long In this sing-a-long camp, students will sing and dance to their favorite Broadway tunes! Students 8:30 am - 12:30 pm will learn basic choreography, and will further Ages 6-10 explore how to be a great ensemble member. Attention Learn skills needed to audition successfully for Auditionee musical theatre productions. Emphasis will be on developing confidence and material for future 8:30 am – 12:30 pm auditions. Ages 11 and older Behind the Mask In this session, campers will travel back in time to Ancient Greece! Campers will learn more about traditional theatre, while designing and creating 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm their own Greek masks. Ages 6-10 Dance, Dance! This high-energy class is a fun workout for all students who like to move! Campers will work to develop a better sense of rhythm, timing and 1:30 pm- 5:30 pm flexibility! Ages 11 and older *Please Note: No camp sessions will be offered for the week of:* June 29th - July 3rd, 2020
Week 3 July 6th - 13th Royal Academy Calling all Princes and Princesses! Celebrate all things royalty this week. Our campers will design their very own crowns and tiaras, while learning 8:30 am – 12:30 pm that it takes more than an outfit to be a leader. Ages 3-5 Movement for the Do you shy away from musical theatre because Stage of the dancing. This camp will strive to alleviate those fears. Simple combinations will be taught so campers are comfortable. This is a great 8:30 am –12:30 pm opportunity to improve your coordination. Ages 6-10 Pen, Page, Stage Learn how to write your very own play! Campers will develop their creative writing skills as they create their own short scenes. At the end of the 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm session, students will bring those scenes to life! Ages 11 and older Week 4 July 13th - 17th British Takeover Celebrate the iconic works of Roald Dahl, as we learn scenes and songs from Matilda The Musical, 8:30 am –12:30 pm Willy Wonka, and James and The Giant Peach. Ages 6-10 Campers will work on their dialects to bring some of our favorite characters to life! Broadway Bound This camp will allow students the chance to explore how their bodies, voices and emotions work on 8:30 am – 12:30 pm stage and how these elements can be used to Ages 11 and older develop a character. Pop Star Lip Sync Do you ever wish your voice sounded like your favorite pop star? In this camp, it is your turn to rock the stage! Build confidence as a performer while 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm working on your musical skills. Ages 6-10 Wicked Week We are bringing one of Broadway’s biggest names to the studio! Join us as we celebrate all things Wicked. Students will learn to sing songs that we 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm all know and love, such as “The Wizard and I”, Ages 11 and older “Popular”, and of course “Defying Gravity!”
Week 5 July 20th - 24th Out of this World What’s cooler than Outer Space? Campers will create their own planets, complete with the 8:30 am – 12:30 pm creatures who live there! Students will develop skills Ages 6-10 in design as they bring their ideas to life through visual art. Project Runway: It’s all about the clothes! Campers will learn more Broadway Edition about the clothes that help bring characters to life. It isn’t as easy as you might think...Campers will have the opportunity to sketch a costume for their 8:30 am –12:30 pm favorite Broadway show, just like the pros! Ages 11 and older Puppetry Camp Campers will learn the art of puppet making as they study various styles of puppetry from around the world! Students will be able to create their 1:30 pm –5:30 pm very own puppets to take home at the end of the Ages 6-10 week! No Fear, Campers will learn more about the greatest Shakespeare! playwright to ever live; William Shakespeare! Campers will read scenes and sonnets, and will perform some of Shakespeare’s most famous works 1:30 pm– 5:30 pm with a modern twist! Ages 11 and older Week 6 July 27th - 31st Moovin’ and Does your little one love to dance? So do we! Groovin’ Campers will learn about rhythm, posture, and balance as they learn some dancing basics! 8:30 am –12:30 pm Ages 3-5 Munchkin Prep CTG is famous for its annual production of The Wizard of Oz! Looking to audition for Wizard this 8:30 am – 12:30 pm year? This camp will help you to prepare! Come Ages 6-10 learn music and choreography from the show, and develop those audition techniques! Harry Potter Week Celebrate “The Boy Who Lived” as campers learn more about the magical world of Hogwarts! Campers will create their very own wands, and 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm learn more about what it takes to be a prop Ages 6-10 wizard! My Shot! Hamilton The biggest name on Broadway is coming to Week Greensboro! Campers will learn songs from “Hamilton” and will have the chance to develop 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm their own raps and rhymes! Ages 11 and older
Week 7 August 3rd - 7th Making Movies That’s right! We are making our very own short films! Campers will work on creative writing, storytelling, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm and directing as they put together short scenes. Ages 6 -10 They will then film these scenes to present for their showcase! Triple Threat Campers with Broadway dreams will have the chance to develop their dancing, singing, and acting skills this week! Join us as we learn to 8:30 am –12:30 pm perform Broadway selections that really showcase Ages 11 and older our talents! Let it Go! It’s all about Frozen this week! We will learn songs from Disney’s Frozen and Frozen 2! Campers are 1:30 pm –5:30 pm sure to have a great time as we bring these Disney Ages 6-10 favorites to life this week. HSMTMTS: The Camp! Are you a fan of Disney’s High School Musical|The Musical; The Series? In one short week, it’s up to our campers to condense this show into just 15 minutes! 1:30 – 5:30 pm Campers will learn leadership, teamwork, and that Ages 11 and older no matter what, we are all in this together! Week 8 August 10th - 14th Mother Goose Mother Goose is on the loose! Campers will have fun bringing their favorite nursery rhymes to life on 8:30 am –12:30 pm stage! From Humpty Dumpty to Little Bo-Peep, this Ages 3-5 camp is sure to spark your little one’s imagination! After Happily Ever Do you ever wonder what happens after the fairy After tale ends? In this camp, students will have the chance to create their own endings and to bring 8:30 am – 12:30 pm those ideas to life! Ages 6-10 The ABC’s of Acting This class teaches acting essentials. Refine your audition skills and learn more about monologues and presentation. This camp is a great way to 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm boost self-confidence. Ages 6-10 Making Movies That’s right! We are making our very own short films! Campers will work on creative writing, storytelling, and directing as they put together short scenes. 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm They will then film these scenes to present for their Ages 11 and older showcase! Students are asked to bring a snack and water bottle each day for camp. Students enrolled in a morning and afternoon session within the same week have to option to remain on site with our staff for lunch. For those who intend to stay between sessions, we ask that students bring in a bagged lunch each day. *Please note that full-day options are limited each week by age and class offerings.*
PRODUCTION CAMPS Disney’s Frozen Kids June 15-June 26th, 2020 8:30 am -5:30pm Ages 7 - 16 Show Dates - June 27th & 28th (Roles available for boys and girls) You’ll love this fanciful and heartwarming stage adaptation of the celebrated animated film. Join Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven, and all of your favorite characters as they embark on an epic, ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie, and the real meaning of true love. Adapted for young performers, this musical includes favorite Frozen songs such as “Love Is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” and “Let It Go,” as well as wonderful new songs from the Broadway production. This production of Frozen KIDS is sure to prove that “some people are worth melting for.” Disney’s Moana Jr. August 3rd - 14th, 2020 8:30 am -5:30pm Ages 7 - 17 Show Dates - August 15th & 16th (Roles available for boys and girls) This thrilling and heartwarming coming-of-age story follows the strong-willed Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana and the legendary demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie as both learn to harness the power that lies within. With empowering messages of bravery and selflessness, Moana JR. is sure to bring out the hero within each of us.
