When Will I Hear Back? • Rolling Admission: Colleges will make decisions as they go, and you will generally hear back around 4-6 weeks after your application is completed • Decision Dates: Some colleges choose to drop all their decisions on a certain date, regardless of when you apply. • Example: All Purdue Early Action decisions went out on January 15
Possible Admission Outcomes • Admitted or Denied • Wait Listed: Students are placed on a Waiting List and are only admitted if space is available. Students placed on a waiting list are usually notified if they are admitted, typically in May or June. • Deferred: An admission decision is on hold, generally for new information, like a new SAT/ACT score, or 1st trimester grades. For students applying Early Decision, they may be deferred for Regular Admission. • Conditional Admission: A college may admit students who have not met all the admission requirements.
