FARRIER: Displayed outside Horse Show Secretary’s office VET SERVICES: Mandy Illston, Equivets NZ HORSE ACCOMMODATION: Yards must be booked when placing entries, no temporary fencing or tape fences allowed, portable yards to be latched at all times. We have several different yarding options, each is limited and will be allocated on a first in first served basis when you place your entries. Deluxe covered yards with wood chips $60.00 Covered yards with straw $40.00 Wooden yards $20.00 Wooden pony yards $15.00 Open pipe yards $20.00 All horses and ponies in yards must wear their corresponding yard tag to be collected from the secretaries office. Yard tags are to be returned when you leave the grounds – after which your yard will be checked and locked (so no one can jump in and leave a mess in your name).You are responsible for your yard until the yard tag is returned. Swapping of yards without discussing and getting approval from the yarding manager is not permitted. Any horses in yards without their yard tags or in the wrong yards will be impounded by the committee, these horses can be collected upon payment of a $50.00 cash impound fee. $5.00 fee applies to any yard tags not returned $50.00 cleaning fee applies to any stables or yards not cleaned out prior to leaving the grounds. Wairarapa A&P have tightened up on yarding and changed the way you book due to the large numbers of special requests, yard swapping and number of yards that are used without booking. We have done this to maintain the first in first served system as well as ensure that no one arrives on the grounds to find a horse in their yard. CAMPING ON GROUNDS: No charge, free showers are available in the shower block at the Menz Shed STAY UNTIL GLISTENING WATERS: Arrangements can be made to accommodate you and your horses until Glistening Waters for $5.00 per horse per day. LEVIES: A levy pack is required for each horse/pony: Show Jumping/Show Hunter Levy Pack $10.00 Ground Levy $5.00 Judges and Stewards Levy $5.00 ESNZ Jumping Levy $5.00 First Aid – provided by Carterton Volunteer Fire Brigade $25.00 total Entries close on 16th March 2020 Late entries will be accepted but will incur a 50% penalty and may not be catalogued. No email entries or class swaps will be accepted, these must be provided on the relevant forms Payment must accompany entries, any entries received but not paid by the closing date will be considered late. Entries will be accepted via the Main Events website or on our own entry form. The correct names and registration numbers of all horses, ponies and riders must be stated on the entry form. No entry will be considered valid unless the entry form has been completed as above. Exhibitors must read the rules and check their entry form carefully. Entry in this show confirms that you have read and accept the rules under which our event is run. All riders, horses and ponies must compete with the appropriate ESNZ membership . Times shown are approximate only and may vary dependent on entries. Entry in the Show entitles the Society to publish an Exhibitors name in results and distribute with Exhibitor Lists. The Society reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entry without giving a reason for doing so All entry fees and prize money is GST inclusive 1
SWAPS (CLASS/HORSE): Class swaps after entries have closed will be charged at -75% of the original entry fee, plus the new entry fee. Late entry fees will not apply to swapped classes when the swap out of/into classes are nominated at the same time. Class and rider changes must be made at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the class. Class swaps must be on the appropriate form, any balance resulting will be followed up after the event (or can be paid in cash) SCRATCHINGS/REFUNDS: 100% refund of entry including levies and yards if horse secretary is advised before 5pm on the 13 th March 2020 75% refund of entry including levies and yards if horse secretary is advised before 5pm on the 29th March 2020 with a vet or doctors certificate for the horse or rider entered. DOGS: Dogs are welcome at our show however they must be kept on leads and supervised at all times, any wandering or unsupervised dogs will be handed over to Carterton City Council Dog Control at the dog owners expense. No warnings will be issued. STALLIONS Stallions must wear official stallion badges at all times and handlers must wear approved armbands. MEASURING/HEIGHT CERTIFICATES: Exhibitors in any class with a prescribed height or where a Certificate of Height is required will be asked to show this certificate at any time. They may not leave the ring to obtain a certificate and will forfeit awards if certificate is not shown. Measuring Rules of The Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand will apply at this show. No measuring available at this Show. PROTESTS: Any protests must be lodged with the Horse Marshall within half an hour of results being posted, accompanied with a $50 fee; to be forfeited if the complaint is not upheld. All disputes will be settled by the judiciary committee consisting of the society’s executive and marshal of the section concerned. CLEAN SPORT: The rules of Equestrian Sport New Zealand in regard to Clean Sport apply. Competitors are advised that tests for forbidden substances may be carried out during the Show/Event and that testing of all animals is at the person responsible’s risk. Forbidden Substance – any substance capable of affecting the speed, stamina, courage or conduct of a horse or pony by its action upon the central or peripheral nervous system or the cardio-vascular, respiratory, alimentary, digestive, musculoskeletal or urogenital systems. AGE OF RIDERS OR HORSES: Riders age and eligibility is determined as per the 1st of August. I.e. Riders/handlers who are of age for any division/section on 1st August complete the show year/season in that division/section. Riders in horse rings (exhibits over 148cm) must be 12 years & over. The age of the horse/pony is calculated as from the 1st August per ESNZ series rules SADDLERY & ACCESSORIES: Whips in classes shall not exceed 76 centimetres in length. Saddlecloths are optional however it is preferred that saddlecloths used and are at least are cut to the shape of the saddle. Bearing reins, running reins or similar tack may not be used. The misuse of a whip or spurs, or the committing of an act of cruelty by an exhibitor to his horse or pony within the limits of the showground, including rapping or misuse of a practice jump will be penalised. Any such act must be reported by any horse/pony steward or judge to the Judicial or General committee. HATS & SAFETY HELMETS: Wearing a hard hat is compulsory for anyone competing on, working in, or schooling or riding a horse/pony in any area considered to be part of the showground. All riders must wear protective headgear with the chinstrap properly adjusted and fastened when in the arena or ring, the practice area, collecting rings or anywhere else within the showground. Helmets must meet the required safety standards as of 1 August 2017. Red tag must be visible on helmet harness. Helmet Tagging will be available at the show, please contact horse secretary to arrange prior to the show. 2
SAFETY: In the interest of safety, the stirrup iron & the stirrup leather (this also applies to safety stirrups), must hang freely from the bar of the saddle and the outside of the flap. The rider must not directly or indirectly tie any part of their body to the saddlery, unless an exhibitor’s disability card is held. MOTORBIKES/SCOOTERS: May be ridden within grounds by licensed holders and not after 10pm. MEDIA: By entering or attending the Clareville Classic Show competition you accept that you may appear within differing media streams that are on location covering the event. Your behaviour at the event and within the competition arena is at your discretion and is your responsibility. Please note that there might be live streaming at the event therefore the camera is on throughout the day, there may also be several photographers on the grounds. By entering the grounds you give permission for your photo to be taken and provided on their respective websites/facebook pages at the discretion of the photographer. PRIZE MONEY PAYOUT POLICY (For all classes): 1, 2 or 3 starters – 1st prize money only, 4 starters – 1st and 2nd prize money only, 5 plus entries – full prize money pay-out. PM $5 and over will be paid by direct credit using details on bank a/c with entry. Animal Welfare is a priority for Wairarapa A & P. Any competitor seen using a harmful device will be asked to leave the grounds immediately without refund of any monies 3

SHOW HUNTER Judge: Kathy Forde All Show Hunter classes will be run under the 2019 ESNZ Membership Rules - refer to www.nzequestrian.org.nz. All Show Hunter Classes will be run under ESNZ Show Hunter Rules 2019 v12 & Equitation Series Condition 2019. These rules are in conjunction with those on pages 1-3 of this schedule. Welcome Hunter:: Open to all horses and ponies regardless of previous experience. Combinations entering in the Welcome Hunter class may only compete in Welcome Hunter and Introductory level classes at this show. A Rider or horse may compete in other classes/divisions at the show, but not as a combination.
