EQUINE HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: 1. Proof of Vaccination: You must provide copies of proof of vaccination for ALL of your horses on the grounds, showing or not Required Vaccines are: Influenza and EHV 1 & 4 (Rhino) – within 6 months (180 days) 2. Person Responsible Form You must complete the Person Responsible Form available in the office at _ or in the prize list. 3. Back numbers will not be issued until the Health Requirements and Person Responsible Forms are met. BIOSECURITY PROTOCOLS AND REQUIREMENTS The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba along with the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair Executive in consultation with both veterinary and animal health authorities have developed protocols which have been deemed necessary in order to effectively manage any possible biosecurity concerns. We STRONGLY recommend that you consult with your veterinarian to design and implement the most appropriate vaccination protocol for your horse. All horses entering the fairgrounds should not have been in contact with any sick horses within the last 14 days and are required to have their temperatures checked twice daily, with temperatures over 38.5° C or normal temperatures for your horse reported to the show veterinarian. The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba and Organizing Committee will monitor any potential biosecurity issues and will update procedures and requirements for all horses entering the grounds. • Restrict unnecessary movement of horses out of their aisle or barn. Don’t take a horse to another barn to be tacked up, braided, clipped, etc. • Do not lead horses down other barn aisles. • Don’t let horses make nose to nose contact with horses from other barns when in common areas such as wash racks or warm up rings. • Do not touch or pet, or feed treats to horses from other barns unless necessary. • Trainers- please make sure your braider knows about the Bio-Security regulations and takes care when moving from horse to horse. • Do not let water hoses touch buckets when filling. • Do not allow horses to drink from the hose. • Do not share water or feed buckets. • Have hand sanitizer readily available (in show office) and use between grooming/tacking up horses.
EC General Rules: Article A519 VACCINATIONS All horses attending EC sanctioned competitions must have been administered Equine Influenza and Equine Herpes Virus (1 and 4) vaccinations within six (6) months (+21 days grace period) before arrival at the competition. No horse shall have received vaccination within seven (7) days prior to arrival at the event. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be asked to leave event site at the discretion of competition management. The frequency of vaccine administration should be as recommended by the vaccine manufacturer or veterinarian. It is recommended that vaccines be administered by or under the direction of a veterinarian. Competition management may request supporting documentation confirming a horse’s compliance with mandatory vaccination requirements. In the case of a horse that is unable to receive either of the vaccines, a letter must be provided with the entry form from a veterinarian, on official letterhead, stating the equine cannot be vaccinated due to medical concerns. At the discretion of competition management, a log of the horse’s temperature prior to arrival at the event site or during the event can be requested. INSURANCE The exhibitor/participant, at his or her own cost, shall procure and maintain in full force and effect during the time of this Agreement, a Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance policy or other insurance form acceptable to Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba management with a combined single limit of not less than TWO MILLION DOLLARS ($2,000,000.00 CAD) for bodily injury or death and for property damage. The insurance policy must have a policy territory which includes Canada, and be underwritten by an insurer acceptable to the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba (generally AM Best rating of B+ or higher). The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba must be added as an additional insured on the exhibitor’s insurance policy: Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba 1200 13th Street Unit 1 Brandon, MB R7A 4S8 Insurance coverage meeting the above requirements must be maintained during the period of Sunday, March 29, 2020 to Sunday, April 5, 2020. This insurance is designed to protect the attending general public, other exhibitors/participants, the fair organizers as well as yourself against possible lawsuits arising from your participation at our event. Exhibitors/Participants who have not provided proof of sufficient coverage will not be allowed to move-in, participate and/or set up until the insurance certificate has been provided to the Provincial Exhibition management. If you already have Commercial General Liability Insurance in place and the Provincial Exhibition has been added as an additional insured, please provide the Provincial Exhibition with a certificate of insurance, this can be obtained from your insurance provider. Brandon Fire Department Regulations The following Manitoba Fire Code Regulations shall be observed by all exhibitors at the Keystone Centre Complex, Brandon. Please note that there are revisions to the Brandon Fire Department Regulations. Booth/Display Requirements • Vertical panels at the back of the booth shall not exceed eight (8) feet in height (exceptions to the eight (8) foot regulation may be allowed by the Keystone Centre Complex and the Brandon Fire Department although pre-approval is required. • All booths shall be constructed with non-combustible or limited – combustible materials. • Tents, that allow access to the public, must be fire resistant or treated with a flame retardant solution to meet with a flame test as per the Manitoba Fire Code. • Accumulation of combustible materials within a booth is prohibited. • Exhibitors are responsible for maintaining their display within the space assigned. Decorative Material • All materials used for draping, decorations or dust covers must be fire resistant or treated with a flame retardant solution to meet with a flame test as per the Manitoba Fire Code Hazardous Displays • Hazardous displays of any nature shall not be permitted in any exhibition area. This includes but is not limited to hot flames, hot coals, L.P.G. lighters, charcoal grills, flammable liquids, toxic liquids or gases, hazardous chemicals, or any hazardous liquids, solids or gases of a similar nature. Use of Propane • No indoor use of propane of any size. • Outdoor use is permitted. Electrical Equipment • All electrical equipment (portable panels etc.) shall be tied directly into the electrical panels. This shall be done by a qualified electrician. • Surge protected power bars may be used for temporary power source (CSA Approved). • If an extension cord must be used it is required to be plugged into a permanent power supply (CSA Approved. Must be unplugged when not being used and without supervision). • All appliances shall comply with Manitoba Electrical Code or C.S.A. • Ceiling tiles shall not be lifted to accommodate electrical drop cords. Heat Producing Appliances • All appliances shall be U.L.C. approved. • All natural gas/propane connections shall be conducted, under permit, by a licensed contractor. • Appliances that are heat producing shall be provided with an adequate barrier to protect the public from burn injuries. • When these appliances are operational they shall not be left unattended. • All appliances must be approved for indoor use to be operated inside. Fire Exits • Exit doors shall be kept free of obstructions at all times. Chairs, tables and other display equipment must be clear of all aisles, corridors, stairwells and other exit areas. • The entire width of the exit door/s shall be maintained free of obstructions. Exit Signs • Exit signs must be visible from any location in a room. • Temporary exit signs may be required, to identify exit travel or exit door locations, if a display obstructs the existing exit signs. Fire Hose Cabinets, Fire Alarm Pull Stations, Portable Fire Extinguishers • Each of these fire safety supports must be visible and accessible at all times. Adjustments to space and equipment will be required. Nothing is to be stored in front of any fire safety devices at any time. Non-Compliance Tickets • Failure to comply with the above regulations may result in the issuing of a Non-Compliance Ticket with fines subject to the fee schedule as per Fire Prevention By-Law No. 6063/12/93.
2020 Manitoba Young Horse Championships March 29 to April 4, 2020 Over $5000.00 in CASH & Prizes to be Awarded Showcasing Canadian bred young horses destined to become tomorrow’s top hunter and jumper stars. Four divisions are offered for Canadian bred 4 & 5 & 6 & 7 year old horses. Each division offers 4 classes – conformation, under saddle, hunter & jumper. The horses can compete in any or all classes in each division & are awarded points & prizes for placing in each class. The horse with the most accumulated points in each division is the Champion 4, 5, 6 or 7yr. old. These classes are offered at the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair. Eligible horses must be registered with a breed registry and be Canadian bred and foaled. (No ponies) • The overall high point horse in each division will be awarded the title of Young Horse Champion along with a blanket. • The Reserve Champion in each division will be awarded the title of Young Horse Reserve Champion plus a blanket. • Awards will be too given to the breeders of the Champion horse in each division. • Cash prizes are also awarded in each class. 2020 ROYAL MANITOBA WINTER FAIR 2020 MANITOBA YOUNG HORSE CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR 4, 5, 6 & 7 YEAR OLD HORSES Eligible horses must be registered with a breed registry and be Canadian bred and foaled. A copy of the registration MUST be presented with entry and reflect that the horse is Canadian bred. No ponies. Open to all riders. DIVISION ENTRY FEE - $125.00 per horse. Horses entered must stay until the end of the show on Saturday, April 4, 2020. MANDATORY FEES - see Manitoba Young Horse Entry Form - available on line at http://royalmanitobawinterfair.com/ FOUR YEAR OLD DIVISION - Horse must turn 4 years old after January 1st of the current year. #340 -CONFORMATION CLASS – HORSES MUST TROT IN HAND. Registered 4 year old Canadian bred, foaled in Canada, suitable to become a sport horse – defined as a horse that is capable of excelling in the hunter, jumper, dressage or eventing disciplines. Will be judged 50% for movement and 50% for conformation/type. Horses will enter the ring at the walk, trot on the rail, and be lined up by the ringmaster. Handler should be in suitable riding attire. Horses shown in bridle. No whip person allowed. #341 - UNDER SADDLE CLASS – Horses enter the ring at a walk and to be shown at a walk, trot and canter in both directions. A maximum of 8 horses to canter at one time. Horses will not be asked to gallop but may be asked to lengthen stride at trot. Horses will be judged on impulsion, balance, rideability, and presence. Whips including dressage whips are allowed. #342 - HUNTER SUITIBILIY CLASS – Maximum height of fences: 2’6”. No combinations and ground rails will be used. To be shown in hunter tack. To be judged as a potential hunter horse. The horse must show an easy, relaxed way of going, showing good form over fences. Faults and refusals affect placings. #343 - JUMPER SUITABILITY CLASS – Maximum height of fences: 0.90m. No combinations and the use of a ground rail at every obstacle is mandatory. The use of a small liverpool is optional. To be shown in jumper tack and only regulation young horse boots are allowed art.G615. No draw reins permitted. The time allowed is not scored but faults and refusals affect placings. Scoring: Table A, no jump off. Faults will be converted to points for 50% of the score (performance), and 50% of the score will be based on style. Knockdown or first refusal: -5 points off performance score.
