RAFFLE MAKES $8000 Jamestown Hydrotherapy Pool has been given a $8000 boost thanks to an incredible fundraising initiative of talented local quilter Sharon Porter and the Burra Quilters Group. A masterpiece quilt created by Sharon was raffled with phenomenal success, with nearly 4000 tickets purchased by people from throughout South Australia, Australia and even overseas. 3 COURSE DINNER The raffle was drawn by visionary Jamestown community member Robert Stacey, who was the driving force behind establishment of the Jamestown Presents a Hydrotherapy Pool in 2003. Saturday Oct 19th | 7pm for 7.30pm Also in attendance at the raffle drawing were Malcolm and Margaret Sparks, Sir Hubert Wilkins Building who generously donated the land the hydro pool is located on, plus a large contingent of Burra Quilters and Hydrotherapy Pool committee members. Sharon, who donated more than 350 hours of time to create the quilt, spoke about the importance of the local hydrotherapy facility to her own health and with GUEST SPEAKER that of many others. JAMESTOWN PAGEANT RAFFLE MURAL The Combined Service Groups of Jamestown 2019 Christmas Pageant is on Sunday 1st of December! We have started fundraising with an amazing raffle!! Please support our event by purchasing a $2 ticket!! It’s drawn on pageant day, and all the money raised goes to providing free entertainment on the day, like free face painting, bouncy castle and children’s entertainer, plus more!! The girls are travelling to Cambodia in September with Worki in Stuart teacher Danya McKay to learn about life in a third world country. e peopl Trish was a foundation member when Soroptimists was established 29 years ago. Following her untimely death, members decided to initiate the award to honour her memory. The award has been generously supported by the Noonan family, and by Soroptimist’s fundraising. Trish was the second of eight children. She attended school at Bundaleer, Port Augusta Office then Cabra College before becoming a nurse. ROUND FIVE – 18TH AUGUST - RACE RESULTS We held our fifth round of Racing on the 18th August at Harris Park. A huge day with 55 cars and over 58 drivers nominated. The day ran smoothly with great action packed and close racing in all grades. Non-stop all day, we pushed through all heats without stopping and our second round of the Ron Harris memorial feature race was a success. It was a sensational effort by all. The canteen and bar were busy all day. Food was awesome and the drinks were flowing. Thank you to our emergency services volunteers and too all our volunteers and sponsors, we couldn’t run such great race days without you! A big thank you to Jamestown Engineering for supplying the stairs, Jeff Rowe Transport for the loan of the crane, Elbow Renovations and J&B Gibb Electrical for all your help and another big thank you to everyone who has assisted us around the track during our working bees. The first stage of the tower & observation platform is looking great and will be a massive benefit to the club and our race meetings. We are looking forward our double header in September with Round 6 on Sunday 15th September and the Outback Burnouts Comp on Saturday 21st September!
