Phillip Hash presented a session with clinical assistant
professor Debbie Aurelius-Muir titled “Program
(Re)Building for First Year Teachers” at the 2020
Illinois Music Education Conference in Peoria. He also
led a round-table session on “competition in music
education” with college students from around the state.
Phil attended the Midwest International Band and
Orchestra Clinic in Chicago in December. In addition,
he published an article titled “Music Instruction at
Selected State Normal Schools during the Nineteenth
Century” in the January 2020 issue of the Journal of
