HOME by KeenBags – The Inspiration Keen on travelling, I have always sought out fabrics from the countries I have visited, the textiles I have collected have been my link to the country and a way to connect with its culture, history and people. Each piece of fabric tells a story that has been woven into its textures and patterns, each one as unique as the methods used to create them. I believe that my creations honour these traditions and transform the fabric into modern, functional and beautiful accessories, breathing a new life into them. Having lived in the Middle East for a number of years, my interest in the traditional fabric of the region, the ghutra, a head scarf worn by Middle Eastern men, sparked an idea that became KeenBags. My first collection of tote-bags and pouches featuring the ghutra fabric launched in 2011 and was met with wonderful reviews. The originality of the concept, the design, quality and finish of each piece and a little Parisian “Je ne sais quoi” has seen KeenBags continue to flourish. This past year has given me the opportunity to reflect and work on new ideas and concepts to grow KeenBags further and I am excited to bring my unique designs into the home of my customers. Using the ghutra fabric, the DNA and original inspiration for my designs, I am very proud to present my new A/W collection of home furnishings. HOME by KeenBags is a sophisticated blend of Middle Eastern textiles and natural, sustainable linen and organic cotton, with complementary stitched boarders. The first HOME collection consists of chic table linens, scatter cushions and organic cotton tote bags that will compliment any décor.
