INSIDER MESSAGE FROM HEAD GIRL School is a life with innumerable lessons and tests we pass, problems are part of the curriculum that appear and fade like algebra but what we experience here stays with us for life. For me school itself is a whole world apart from the real one. The corridors have their own stories and each classroom has its unique language. School is indeed where I first learnt my alphabets and found the solution to my first mathematical problem but it also is the rainbow that groomed me enough to lead a life forward. When I was pushed backward the books helped me revise my lessons again until I cross the finish line. The pride and the honor I have towards my school will indeed have its effects even if I walk through the school gates after 10 years. Remember when our flight of education took off , we all must have felt numerous turbulences but our teachers are excellent pilots who land our planes safe and shows us the path ahead. Though I have represented the school earlier but representing it as the ‘Head Girl’ made me understood that “how important it is to see what happens when you don’t give up.” With the hard work of my parents, teachers and of course the books which taught me all the necessities it requires to bring out our inner potentials, I finally know what I want in future as my school journey comes to an end this year. To all the students of our school it’s a promise that you will surely know as well what your inner self is seeking and why. Till then learn from your turbulences, enjoy the flight and trust your pilots (teachers). Always cherish the days of school as what you learn here is worth gold. BEST OF LUCK TO ALL! INSIDER Social Media Responsible For Plastic Relations Social media has become a part and parcel of our daily life and now only few per cent of the world is oblivious to it .So the first thing that springs up in my mind is what are plastic relation? And how social media is responsible for it? So, just imagine that you went somewhere for vacations and you had no access to internet with this you lost contacts with your friends and streaks on your snap chat. So, on the first day of your school you were very excited to meet everyone and especially, your best friend whom you hadn’t seen or texted for a month. But few days into school you started to realise that your friend had another group of friends and was not interested in talking to you any more maybe just because she was kind of annoyed that she lost a 100 days streaks with you. At this point you’ll start to realize that your friendship was nothing but just sending black screens to each other for 100 day. A business insider said “now a days streaks are the proof of your friendship, if you lose your streaks you lose your friendship “. Due to social media today, there is an apathy of meaningful relations, so what do I mean when I say meaning relations? Basically it’s a bond that is kind of special or things that you only share with few people. E – Magazine – Vol 5 2019 - 2020 Page 66
INSIDER So in the world of social media we convince ourselves that technology is helping but people don’t seem enough. We crave real connections but would rather text for the hard conversations. We want deep connections but still keep things shallow. We desire relations but settle following each other on twitter. We want that face book official relations which everyone can like and comment on. We stare at the pretty pictures at instagram instead of the person just standing in front of us. We check in social media more than we check in our friends. We love squandering time on you tube and face book and we wear it like a badge of honour. We have trust issues with people we’ve known for years, yet we trust a review that we just saw on amazon. We want to hold hands while still holding onto our phones. We scroll through twitter while still having lunch with our friends. We want that downloadable relation that’s a perfect fit just like an app we can update it whenever there’s a hitch. We want to compartmentalize our relations into folders that we can delete whenever we’ve no more need for it. We complain that in the world of social media today nothing feels real but we don’t time to anything to become real. Remember that it’s ok to highlight reels but make sure someone knows how you feel, it’s ok have face time but make sure you spend quality time face to face , it’s ok to have followers but make sure you have true friends. At the last I’m only left with one thing to say” learn how to be social not how to do social”. E – Magazine – Vol 5 2019 - 2020 Page 67
INSIDER Ananya Sharma Class 9th B What is life actually about? “When you were born you cried while others rejoiced live your life in such a way that when you die you die the world would cry and you rejoice.” This quote is from the book “Who will cry when you will die by Robin Sharma.” It is one of the utmost lessons that his father taught him when he was going through his pugnacious time. He deliberated it in the first chapter and i think that everyone should be aware of it. It means that we have to make worth of our living (our present). And if you think life is only about being wealthy, then you are mistaken because money won’t make you exhilarated. Money is just an entity that will help us obtain our obsessions. So the quest ion springs up is that what is life really about? Life is about connecting to us and other, being aware of our surrounding and being bold so, just for instance picture that when you were a toddler you knew no fear not even the fear of being turned down. Life is about being jovial (state of happiness). The best way to be cheerful is to gratify for the things we have. So let me ask you a simple question “would you sell your legs and arms for 3 billion E – Magazine – Vol 5 2019 - 2020 Page 68
INSIDER dollars?” no you won’t (of course no one will). So, that’s the way of gratifying for things. Most people squander their life imagining things will come true and without making any effort, but it’s not true because everything comes at price. We always have to sacrifice one or the other thing, for success it will cost you more than you think. From my perspective life is about making mistakes and learning from them, it’s about finding your WHY, WHAT and HOW. Every person on this earth is born for something great. Every one of us has a purpose and is born for a reason. And if you fail, learn from it and move forward because something greater is waiting for you. Ananya Sharma Class 9th B Rising prices of petroleum in India Petroleum- as we all know is a basic need for our daily life. It comprises of petrol, diesel and natural gas. As it is a fossil fuel and is expected to exhaust one day or the other, it is becoming expensive day-by-day in many countries. Price hike is a common phenomenon and happens in most economies. It is a reality in India as well. However, this reality isn’t only because of the natural progress of economics but also because of governmental policies and taxation, all of which contribute to the price of goods and services that eventually reach the common man. For the common man, a hike in prices is always a matter of some concern. He has to make constant readjustments to his monthly budget and even give up using certain products and services since he can no longer afford them. Add in the fact that salaries don’t increase at a commensurate rate and the ability of the common man E – Magazine – Vol 5 2019 - 2020 Page 69
INSIDER to afford many things goes down significantly. What is also a matter of concern is that when the price of certain items is hiked, prices of other essential goods and services also go up. For example, if the price of petrol or diesel is hiked, the common man has to adjust that in his budget. But this increase in prices also means increased prices for public transport and goods that are transported across the country using petrol or diesel fuelled transport. In other words, because the price of petrol increases, the price of vegetables and grains may also increase. So, poor and common people are criticising this step taken by the Government through protests etc. But we should know that the government is following this step to conserve petroleum, especially petrol because it is expected that it will be completely exhausted after about 40 years. So instead of taking part in protests we should support this step taken by the Government. Pranshu Bajaj – X A E – Magazine – Vol 5 2019 - 2020 Page 70
INSIDER "Feminism seeks equal rights and freedom for women just like men. It is important, to prove that the world only works when men and women bring evolution and progress, hand-in-hand. It proves all humans equal!" Ever heard people say that about feminism? But the question arises, if feminism really proves all the HUMANS (males and females) equal, then why isn't it called HUMANISM. Eventually, feminism has lost it's real meaning and become a cliché for most people. For e.g. a women might say, "I'm not going to do the dishes, let the men do it." Fine, let the men do it if they want to but it has nothing to do with equality. Men and women are the manifestation of one God, the divine entity. HUMANS need to value HUMANS. And that's what I call HUMANISM. Close your eyes and think of a world with men and women, husbands and wives, going to work together, coming back and assisting each other in the daily chores. Supporting each other's dreams and wishes, respecting each other's decisions and standing with them in the darkest times. That is HUMAN-VALUE, HUMAN- EQUITY. HUMAN-ISM.
