The CRP Group – since 1970

The CRP Group – since 1996
• CRP is a pioneer in Additive Manufacturing, having started in 1996
when it was almost unknown in Italy. In the Nineties 3D printing
technology was known as Rapid Prototyping: it was a fast, cost
effective way to realize new design concepts; it allowed us to create
perfect 3D shapes.
• The studies carried out by CRP Technology from 1996 have changed
the scenario of Rapid Prototyping introducing a new concept of Additive
Manufacturing and 3D Printing: Windform 3D Printing materials
have allowed the technology of selective laser sintering (SLS) in order
to realize high performing parts for wind tunnel applications as well as
finished and functional parts.
• Windform’s mechanical properties made them a layer above 3D
Printing, leading from Rapid Prototyping to Additive Manufacturing. The
birth and launch of Windform materials has been an important turning
point worldwide.
• It occurred in 2005, when we created, produced and launched on the
market Windform XT, composite polyamide based material for SLS,
the first carbon fiber filled ever.

The CRP Group – CRP Racing 2006-2010
• CRP Racing was founded in December 2006, as CRP
Technology’s Racing Department. CRP Racing’s goal was to
become the main point of reference in its market for quality,
speed, reliability, ability and service.
• CRP Racing became the leading two stroke tuning firm in
Italy, winning the Road Racing Italian Championship and
Honda Trophy in 2007 and 2009.
The changeover to green
• In 2009 we decided to bring the “CRP Method” to a new
project: the eCRP was the first e-racer to come out of Italy.
The CRP’s electric program started
• In 2009, CRP Group took the opportunity to develop a fully
electric racing motorcycle and so they started with the eCRP
project. CRP made two years of racing that are served
primarily as a technology scouting, then in 2011 they started
working on the road version, Energica.
• The team started to fit the needs of a streetbike with the new
electric technology and the differences of the racing market,
from here they arrived at the new version of Energica Ego.

✓ VCU – Vehicle Control Unit. Energica’s battery, inverter, charger
and ABS are constantly monitored and managed by one
technological jewel: the VCU, completely designed and developed
by Energica. This Vehicle Control Unit implements a multi-map
adaptive energy, and a power management algorithm manages
the electric motorcycle. Carefully monitoring and adjusting the
motor’s power according to the throttle thrust 100 times per
second while riding.
✓ Supply Unit. This important technical component contains
entirely the rechargeable batteries, sealing them in-house. Usually
the batteries, contained in this component, warm up: the
produced heat dissipates only minimally. Therefore, the batteries
contained in the case are subjected to overheating, which would
greatly reduce the life cycle. Energica battery case has been
designed to avoid this overheating. The case includes a cooling
plate made of aluminum and provided with several through holes
that communicate outside and cross the cooling plate. Energica is
the only electric motorcycle manufacturer to adopt this
technology.
✓ eABS. The latest generation eABS mounted on the Energica
motorcycle is able to limit the maximum regenerative torque in
case of slippery conditions. In particular, the system verifies the
presence of friction conditions and, in case of slippery conditions,
limits the maximum regeneration torque.

The FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup is becoming a reality in 2019, ushering in the beginning of a new era for two-
wheeled motorsport: sustainable and environmentally aware competition on electric motorcycles.
Energica is the single manufacturer chosen by Dorna for the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup.
A tuned version of Energica Ego, Ego Corsa, will be used by teams that will race the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup.
The R&D team is already committed on this bike, working on driveability on the track, and then on track specifications.
Testing demo program is taking place during the 2018 MotoGP™ World Championship.

Company S.p.A., unveiled Smart Ride, a project that
has as its aim a completely new riding experience.
✓ Bolid-E prototype
The prototype conceived by Energica Motor Company for
Smart Ride has been designed starting from the electric
old-style Eva EsseEsse9, the newly proclaimed Best
Electric Bike of the Year 2018. The result is “Bolid-E”, a
speed machine which exalts the concept of speed as an
emotion: a futuristic motorbike in which Samsung
technologies and Energica expertise come together.
✓ Smart Ride project
Smart Ride, a project managed and developed in all its
phases in Italy by Samsung and Energica, aims at making
possible the interaction - through NFC and Bluetooth
connectivity - between Samsung Galaxy Watch and the
Energica motorbike, guaranteeing a brand new riding
experience. The Energica motorbike is also fitted with
intelligent mirrors. The Head-up Displays consist of two
Samsung Galaxy A series devices integrated into mirrors
which, thanks to the videos generated by the two cameras
– one rear and one front – on the motorbike, revolutionize
road safety, analyzing images in real time and warning the
rider of any hazards and obstacles ahead.

the same period last year. Preliminary results for July show an increase of 53 % over July 2017.

Energica has signed a partnership with the FlyMove holding for the "Dianchè Smart
Mobility Platform - SMP" project.
SMP is today the unique project for land/air mobility that foresees a fully integrated
supply chain form self generation of energy to materials and final vehicles, with a
minimal energetic and environmental impact.
SPM has decided to involve Energica for the design and construction of an electric
vehicle prototype suitable for battery swap and mainly for urban use.
