Dear Friends, Wish you Happy Women’s Day ! Happy Holi ! Happy Gudi Padwa ! I greet you all with the word…. UBUNTU. Ubuntu, is an African word introduced to the world by Nelson Mandela. It means “I am, because you are”. It speaks to the fact that we are all connected and that one can only grow and progress through the growth and progression of others. “Together we can”. Friends, as an Inner Wheel member we do various of projects to improve livelihood of deprives of our society. When we do the act as individual, the impact may be invisible to others but when we put our hands bound together; it makes a great and ever lasting impact on the society and an example of Live a Lasting Legacy. Gender inequality, poverty, and violence happens on a global scale and these atrocities are what tells us that we need to do more as a society to actively live and breathe Ubuntu and put it into action on a daily basis. Being an Inner Wheel member, we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by sharing ourselves with others, and caring for those around us. without the spirit of Ubuntu within us, we cannot implement great change in our society. It’s imperative that we help all people, young and old, to achieve only the best for their future. Looking after one another also plays a major role in the success of humanity. That is called as “Friendship and Service”; the moto of Inner Wheel. Let’s make our bounds more and more tighter .. so that there could not be a chance to think of ourselves without Inner Wheel. Friends, March heralds in New Year in many parts of our diverse country, and of course, the all- time favorite, Holi and Rang Panchami. This month has many important days, like Tuberculosis day, Pi day and also 'Our ' day, 8th March! Supreme court has made us proud, by opening up the command positions for women officers. And yet, we, at grass root level, struggle to ensure that every girl child is born and every girl child is educated. Like a young sapling, that needs to be nurtured, our girls need our helping hand to grow their wings. More often than not, its the girls who stand by their parents, and it is this compassionate girl who is multi-tasking , for both the families. Let us, make a difference to someone, let us take a step to make someone special, could be your over worked co-worker, a friend or even your house help!
