Objective 2.1

• 2.1. Aggregating content in Europeana – several
  BPNs
   – Aggregation of existing digital heritage
   – Alignment of metadata and mappings with the
     specifications of Europeana
   – agree on the necessary licensing or clearing
     arrangements
   – Outcome: Higher quantity of quality digital
     content, in particular masterpieces, from across
     Europe and other countries participating in the
     programme
Objective 2.2

2.2.   Digitising content for Europeana – several pilots B

   – Enhance content base through targeted digitisation
     actions of European Masterpieces
   – Diversity and richness of Europe's cultural heritage
   – Themes must be of interest to a broad public
   – Different types of material (e.g. books, audiovisual,
     sound, archival records, museum collections, etc.)
   – Accessible through Europeana free of charge at item
     level
Objective 2.3

•   2.3. Raising awareness of Europeana and promoting its use -
            several BPNs

    – Awareness campaign in order to publicise
      Europeana among the broadest possible public -
      one BPN
    – Promoting the use of Europeana by improving its
      functionalities (e.g. user friendliness,
      improvements to searching and browsing, cross
      language access)– several BPNs
Objective 2.4 (8 M€)

• 2.4. eLearning – one or more pilots B for 8 M€
  Accelerate adoption of eLearning resources:

  – Pilots for socially-powered, multilingual portal where Teachers,
    pupils and parents (directly participating) intuitively discover,
    acquire, discuss and improve eLearning resources - Identifying best
    practices of use – commercial content as well as user-generated
    content
  – Pilots which stimulate multiplier effects by showcasing uses and
    results in teachers training initiatives, organising a series of
    eLearningDays@school or setting up attractive eLearning kiosks).
Theme 3 (18 M€)

• Theme 3: ICT for health, ageing well and inclusion

  – 3.1. ICT Solutions for fall prevention and ICT and Ageing
    network : several pilots B and one TN - 9 M€
  – 3.2. Digital competences and social inclusion: one pilot B - 2M€
  – 3.3. e-accessibility: one pilot B - 3 M€
  – 3.4. Empowering patients and supporting widespread
    deployment of telemedicine services: one pilot B and one TN - 4
    M€
Objective 3.1 (9 M€)

• 3.1. ICT Solutions for fall prevention and ICT and
  Ageing network : several pilots B and one TN - 9 M€
  Several pilots B (8.5 M€):
  – Significantly improve QoL & care efficiency for the ageing population
    by focusing on falls & safety of elderly people (prevention + detection)
  – Address full needs beyond ICT (organisational re-engineering, business
    models, financial planning) ;
  – Provision of single entry point to online information, services and tools,
    provision of tools and materials, …

  One TN (0.5 M€):
  – Bring together key national or regional initiatives to develop guidelines
    for deployment of solutions, share good practices and disseminate
    information to European

Objective 3.2 (2 M€)

• 3.2. Digital competences and social inclusion: one pilot
  B

   – Single entry point for operational support to “social inclusion actors”
     through online tools and services, targeted distance training,
     acquisition and certification of competences (learning ICT and through
     ICT)
   – special focus on domiciliary care workers
   – User centricity, usability, accessibility, multilingualism.
Objective 3.3 (3 M€)

3.3. e-accessibility: one pilot B

– Common Approaches to leading to accessible online public services /
  services of general interest for people with disabilities and the
  monitoring of accessibility through multiple platforms (mobile, TV,
  public digital terminals, web 2.0…)
– Technology guidance for generating, testing and validating accessible
  content on multiple platforms, support packages and training for
  creators and managers of web sites, reference curricula, competence
  assessment and certification, tutorials repository
Objective 3.4 (4.5 M€)
•   3.4. Empowering patients and supporting widespread deployment
    of telemedicine services:

    one pilot B (4 M€)
    – Empower patients through secure, user friendly online access to their health
      data and integrated health records
    – Piloting of associated services, e.g. e-booking of medical consultations or
      chronic disease management services
    – Multiple sites testing, Privacy protection, Legal, ethical and organisational
      challenges, synergies with relevant initiatives, e.g. EPSOS project

    One TN (0,5 M€)
    – Facilitate exchange of good practices, to build wide consensus among
      stakeholders in telemedicine to prepare commitments on specific actions
    – Develop guidelines to accelerate telemedicine deployment
    – Synergies with existing initiatives (pilot "RENEWING Health“), input to eHealth
      Governance initiative
Theme 4 (21.5 M€)

  public services

  – 4.1. Towards a cloud of public services: several
    pilots B – 10 M€

  – 4.2. Towards a single European electronic
    Identification and authentication area: one pilot

  – 4.3. Piloting IPv6 upgrade for eGovernment
    services in Europe: one pilot B – 3 M€
Objective 4.1 (10 M€)
• 4.1. Towards a cloud of public services: several
  pilots B

  – Test and show added value of Service Oriented
    Architectures (SOAs) and Cloud Computing for
    eGovernment services
  – Validate innovative services based on
    aggregation of basic services
  – Develop a full "business" case for public
    administrations to migrate to the new service
    oriented architecture
  – Privacy and protection, assessment of
    effectiveness and efficiency
Objective 4.2 (8.5 M€)

• 4.2. Towards a single European electronic
  Identification and authentication area: one pilot A

   – Validate the architecture for an EU-wide eID
     management and authentication infrastructure –
     cross border aspects of governance issues
     (building on STORK pilot)
   – Convergence of public and private sector eID
     management
   – Each “Application test” should involve at least 3
     MS or associated countries), e.g. in Transport,
     Health, Social Security, Pensions, Employment,
     Public/Business, Registry, Banking and Telecom,
   – Privacy issues, standards and legislation
Objective 4.3 (3 M€)

• 4.3. Piloting IPv6 upgrade for eGovernment
  services in Europe: one pilot B

  – 3 to 5 complementary experiments upgrading to IPv6 a
    set of representative eGovernment infrastructures and
    services of public interest (IPv6 enabled government and
    public networks; IPv6 enabled governmental portals; or
    IPv6 enabled sectoral portals)
  – One of the experiments shall have a strong cross-border
    and interoperability dimension
Theme 5 (14 M€)

•   Theme 5: Open innovation for future internet-enabled
    services - one objective

    Objective 5.1. Open innovation for internet-enabled services in
      "smart" cities: several pilots

    – Accelerate the uptake of innovative "ultrafast Internet" based
      technologies and services in cities, combining:
            – User-driven open innovation ecosystems, such as Living Labs, to bridge
              the gap
            – Cross-border network of 'smart cities' should exploit synergies and best
              practices
            – combination of innovative, but mature, technologies such as mobile LTE

    – Each pilot will include at least 3 cities located in different member states
      or associated countries.
