Chairmanship Year: 2022 As we look forward to the 2020 season, the college football landscape will certainly look different than in recent years, but we are excited to see conferences across the country release their season timelines and express their support and intention to play in 2020 postseason games. When I joined the Independence Bowl Foundation: Man, I can't remember how many years I have been a member, but I would say at least 15 years. EXTRA YARD FOR TEACHERS Two events that were scheduled for September have been postponed due to current local and state regulations - Kickoff K's 5K & Half Marathon and Super Boil Sunday. BYU has gone to a bowl game 14 of the last 15 years dating back to 2005 - only missing a bowl in 2017. C-USA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEDICAL UPDATE NAVY • Junior Zach Wilson is back at QB for BYU after throwing for nearly 4,000 yards in 18 games over the last two seasons. • Navy bounced back after a down year in 2018 to go 11-2 last season. The Midshipmen, however, trot out a new QB for the 2020 season - replacing tremendous triple-option QB Malcolm Perry, who rushed for 2,017 (via Conference USA Communications) yards last season. Senior Dalen Morris takes over under center after seeing time in four games the last two seasons. DALLAS – Following an extremely thorough process the Conference USA Board of Directors has adopted a comprehensive COVID-19 plan as the league continues to cautiously move forward, while constantly evaluating every aspect related to the pandemic and our campus PRE-SEASON BOWL PROJECTIONS operations, community trends and all related state, county and public health directives. The plan establishes the standards for daily operations, education, mental health, travel, game day and event operations, and medical protocols designed to enhance the NCAA’s Resocialization of Collegiate Sport: Developing Standards for Practice and Competition. • C-USA will test football student-athletes three times a week (PCR+Antigen). ///////////////////////////////////////////////////// • All support and game day operations staff will meet NCAA and C-USA policy guidelines for testing. • C-USA is in constant evaluation of the latest medical updates and in consultation with C-USA medical advisors regarding COVID-19, which may result in changes to the policies.
