Economy’ remains important to the Asia-Pacific region.
The event will offer a unique opportunity for us all to gather
in a virtually pandemic-free area of Australia, grapple with the
current issues, inform ourselves of developments in industry
and technology and make new alliances and friendships, all
while enjoying the beauty of the Cairns tropical environment.

As President of the Australasian Hydrographic Society (AHS), I
am pleased to invite and welcome you to the Hydrospatial 2021
Conference & Trade Exhibition being held in Cairns, Australia in

October 2021.
Humans have been involved in hydrography for millions of
years. Firstly, to understand where the best fishing was, then
how to cross to the nearby island and onwards to crossing the
Oceans and creating trade routes.
Our conference in October 2021 is themed the ‘Future of
Hydrography.’ This will include innovative technologies of
Autonomous Survey Vessels, Satellite derived bathymetry and
multiple pinging sensors. We will consider parallel processing,
artificial intelligence, and big data. We will look at new areas,
such as hydrospatial, digital twinning, autonomous vehicles,
and robotics. We will talk about our effect on the environment,
how we interact with it, how we measure it and how we can
better manage it.
Our Conference is to be held in Cairns, the capital of Far North
Queensland and home to the Great Barrier Reef. The conference
will be the premier event on the Hydrographic Calendar for
2021. It is to be held between 27 and 29th October 2021 at the
Cairns Pullman Hotel.
There will be as large amount of space for exhibitors and
sponsors alike to show your organisation’s skills and products.
The program design allows for time for participants to meet
the exhibitors and sponsors and discuss their future plans and
requirements for hydrography.
