Basic principles of packaging Parcels tied together Parcels tied together cannot be accepted for transportation. Repeated used boxes If you use cardboard boxes repeatedly, do not forget to remove all outdated labels to prevent misrouting of your parcel. Unique packaging All covers and openings in the packaging should be firmly and visibly secured to prevent their spontaneous opening. Unique packaging can be ensured by using the company labelled tapes. Handling labels You can stick handling labels on your parcel if necessary. Handling labels do not replace quality packaging and stuffing. Place a label “Fragile” on the top of the parcel and “This side up” on its side. “Fragile” label shall be used if the parcel contains glass, porcelain, liquids and high value goods. Recommended packaging for fragile goods Notebooks We recommend encapsulated-air plastic sheeting, foam profiles, fuchsbags, flopacks as parcel stuffing. If you send a notebook to a repair shop/service, the shop/service is obliged to inform you about the right packaging. Most of repair shops have such instructions in manuals on their websites. Monitors, TVs If you send goods to a repair shop/service and do not have its original packaging, it is feasible to protect the display (by using polystyrene or similar board). Bubble wrap is not enough protection for such goods. Printers Use the original manufacturer’s packaging and semi- hard stuffing. Tablets Insert in the original box and into the transportation packaging stuffed with appropriate stuffing along all sides. Microwaves Insert original packages into the transportation packaging stuffed with appropriate stuffing along all sides. If you do not have the original package, all other types of packaging must be stuffed by encapsulated-air plastic sheeting in an appropriate amount along all sides - polystyrene, flopack, polyurethane, polyethylene, bubble wrap etc. Cooktops It is recommended to use encapsulated-air plastic sheeting (one polystyrene piece into which the cooktop is inserted) or polystyrene “sandwich” (place a piece of polystyrene of the same size as the cooktop on each side of the cooktop, fix with wrap and insert in a cardboard box). Recommended packaging for fragile goods Vacuum cleaners Put in an original packaging and into a transportation box stuffed with appropriate stuffing along all sides. If you do not have original packaging, all parts must be fixed so that they cannot move freely. It is recommended to use soft foam as stuffing, sufficient layer of bubble wrap, foam profiles. Boilers It is recommended to use encapsulated-air plastic sheeting, polystyrene, polyurethane or polyethylene lining at both bottom and top. Tie the parcel with cable ties for easy handling during transportation. Fitness machines Place a machine into a sturdy cardboard box and secure it so that its individual parts do not collide with each other. Furniture Use original packaging if possible that should include appropriate stuffing (polystyrene separators or thin paper sheets or polyurethane separators). In that way you can prevent damage of individual furniture in the box. Glass parts and mirrors are excluded from transportation because of their fragility. Always pack furniture dismantled.
