WHAT IS THE GREEN HOMES GRANT? Home improvements don’t come cheap but thanks to the Government’s new Green Homes Grant scheme homeowners in England can apply for vouchers worth up to £10,000 to make their homes more energy efficient and reduce their bills. In most cases it will pay two-thirds of the cost of the energy efficient improvements, up to a maximum of £5,000 a household – but if you’re on a low income and on certain benefits you can claim the entire cost up to £10,000. Claim up to £5,000 per household or £10,000 if on a low income. The grants could help to support more than 100,000 jobs. More than 600,000 new homes are set to become more energy efficient. 2 / GREEN HOMES GRANT HOMEOWNER GUIDE
