MOUSE NEEDS A BATH!                                                                             NURSERY
MATERIALS :                                                      OBJECTIVES:
1) Story book – ‘Mouse needs a bath!’ (pdf)                      - Your child will listen to the story ‘Mouse needs
                                                                        a bath!’ and respond to the questions.
Lesson Development:
1) Introduce the author, illustrator, title and the cover page of the story book “Mouse needs a
   bath!”
2) Read the story to your child.
3) Reread the story and at each juncture ask children the following questions.

Questions for Discussion:
1)   Can you tell me what do you see in this book cover? What do you think the story is about?
2)   Why does the mouse need a bath?
3)   When was the last time mouse had a bath?
4)   Do you think the mouse is clean? Why?
5)   Why did the mouse not want to take a bath?
6)   What happened when the mouse decided to take a bath?
7)   Do you like to take a bath? Why?

Note to Parents:
1) Find a suitable time and cosy place to do the reading activity.
2) Enjoy reading to your child!

SHOWER TIME!                                                                              NURSERY
MATERIALS :                                                     OBJECTIVES:
  1) Doa entering bathroom                                      Your child will be able
  2) Doa leaving the bathroom                                      - to verbalise the actions that he / she is
  3) A tray of bathroom items (e.g. body                               doing .
     wash , body sponge, towel)                                    - to recite doa entering and leaving bathroom
  4) Kids Songs from                                               - name the bathing items.

Lesson Development:
  1)   Introduce your child the Doa entering bathroom / toilet. Explain why we should recite the doa.
  2)   Place the tray of bathing items in front of your child.
  3)   Encourage your child to name the items on the tray.
  4)   Ask your child if he/she knows the use of each item.
  5)   Demonstrate to your child the steps of taking a shower.
        - Wet your body and head.
        - Wash hair with small amount of shampoo.
        - Rinse the shampoo out of your hair.
        - Wash your face.
        - Wash your body by applying body wash to your body sponge or your hand.
        - Start on your neck and shoulder and work your way down.
        - Wash under arms and back.
        - Wash private parts and bottom last.
        - Rinse off the soap.
  6)   Invite your child to dramatize teh act of showering.
  7)   After the dramatization, inform your child that he / she need to recite Doa leaving the
       bathroom before leaving the bathroom.
  8)   Introduce your child the Doa leaving the bathroom.
  9)   End the activity by singing and doing the actions ‘Bath Song’ with your child.

  1)   What should we do before entering the bathroom and after leaving the bathroom?
  2)   Can you name these items?
  3)   What are they for?
  4)   How should we use the items to clean ourselves?

3) Provide paints in a plastic container, paintbrushes and sponge for your

   paintbrush, sponge and loofa.
5) Dry the shower curtain.
6) Ask your child to talk about the artefact .
7) End the activity by singing the ‘Bath song’ with your child.

Questions for Discussion:

   2)   Those lines are beautiful. Did you paint from left to right or right to left?
   3)   What are the shapes that you made in this beautiful art pieces.
   4)   What are the colours that you used to paint?

 Peralatan / Bahan-bahan :                                        Objektif:
  1) Doa Sebelum Belajar (Annex A)                                Di akhir aktiviti ini, anak anda akan:
  2) Video di Youtube: ‘Mandi’dari Didi and                           - Mengenali tentang teks yang ada didalam
     Friends: https://youtu.be/az1dQOPpQyE                                buku dan cara pembacaan yang betul
  3) Buku besar berjudul “Tikus perlu                                     daripada kiri ke kanan dan atas ke bawah.
     Mandi!”(pdf)                                                     - Memahami jalan cerita dalam buku.

 Arahan:
  1) Jadikan tabiat membaca ‘Doa sebelum Belajar’ (Annex A) bersama-sama, setiap kali anda
     mulakan sesi aktiviti bersama anak anda.
  2) Mulakan aktiviti dengan mengajak anak anda menyanyi dan menari mengikut rentak lagu dalam
     video ‘Mandi’ dari Didi and Friends : https://youtu.be/az1dQOPpQyE. Galakkan anak anda
     mereka tariannya sendiri.
  3) Tanyakan anak anda, “Kamu masih ingatkah doa masuk ke tandas? Kalau kamu ingin mandi,
     harus baca doa dulu, baru masuk ke tandas, bukan? Mari kita baca sama-sama. (Annex B)
  4) Seterusnya, tunjukkan kulit buku dan tajuk cerita hari ni, ‘Tikus perlu mandi!’
  5) Luangkan masa untuk berbincang tentang gambar di kulit buku dan makna tajuk cerita.
  6) Bacakan buku cerita dengan terperinci dengan mengenalkan kepada anak anda tentang teks yang
     ada di dalam buku.
  7) Anda akan dapat mengenalkan tentang cara pembacaan yang betul dengan menuding setiap
     perkataan sambil membaca, daripada kiri ke kanan dan atas ke bawah.
  8) Ajak anak anda untuk melengkap ayat semasa anda bacakan ceritanya, seperti. “Terlalu
     pa....nas”, lakukan aksi anda sedang kepanasan, anak anda akan senang meneka perkataannya.
  9) Anda boleh menanyakan soalan-soalan mengikut setiap lembaran buku cerita.

 Soalan-soalan yang boleh diajukan:
  1) Siapakah yang perlu mandi?
  2) Siapakah kawan yang memujuk Tikus untuk mandi?
  3) Bila kali terakhir Tikus mandi?
  4) Mengapakah ada lalat yang berterbangan di keliling Tikus?
  5) Akhirnya, berapa lama Tikus mandi di dalam tab mandi?
  6) Berapa seringkah kamu mandi?
  7) Mengapa penting untuk kita mandi?
 Nota untuk Ibu bapa/ Waris:
  1) Ajak anak anda untuk membaca doa sebelum masuk tandas setiap kali bila tiba masa untuk
     mandi atau untuk menggunakan tandas.
  2) Ingatkan anak anda untuk jangan membazir air sewaktu mandi.

     3. Campurkan dengan sabun dan sedikit pewarna.
     4. Ambil seikat straw atau botol plastik yang telah dipotong.
     5. Celupkan ke dalam campuran sabun dan pewarna dan tiupkan ke atas kertas.
     6. Ajarkan dan galakkan anak anda untuk meniup buih, dan bukan menghirup air sabun.
     7. Ulangkan dengan pewarna-pewarna yang lain dan penuhkan lembaran kertas.
     8. Biarkan lukisannya kering dan kemudian, anda boleh mengajak anda mengguntingnya untuk
         membuat bentuk bunga atau kupu-kupu, atau untuk membalut hadiah dan buku dan
