What Jesus is telling us in this parable is: “Keep your eyes open, for you do not know the
day nor the hour when the Lord will come,” in other words, we should prepare for His com-
ing in us. We are supposed to be alert and prepared for Christ’s coming at the midnight of
our lives. we are supposed to be alert and prepared when Christ comes in everyday of our
lives. He comes to us in the things we do, in what happens to us and in the people we meet.
Yet quite open we are insensitive to His presence. To pray does not mean that we neglect our work and play,
but rather that we pause occasionally to pay attention to the Lord.. Let us open our eyes and hear what God
wills for us and what others are wanting from us.

Frances Xavier Cabrini Nov. 7 & 8
Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini MSC, also called Mother Lectors
Cabrini, was an Italian-American Roman Catholic nun. She 4PM: Jessy Tang
founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 8AM: Jean Fiorello
a Catholic religious institute that was a major support to her 11AM: Julie Copenhaver
fellow Italian immigrants to the United States. Filled with a deep trust in God and
endowed with a wonderful administrative ability, Frances founded 67 institutions, November 14 & 15
including orphanages, schools, and hospitals. Her institutions were spread out in Lectors
places all over the United States. St. Frances Xavier Cabrini was beatified on No- 4PM: Pat Hempstead
vember 13, 1938, by Pope Pius XI and canonized by Pope Pius XII on July 7, 8AM: Carol Giangalanti
1946, making her the first United States citizen to be canonized. Her feast day is 11AM: Jim Stanley
celebrated on November 13 and she is the patron saint of immigrants.
