AT A G L A N C E Located in the heart of Newtown on cosmopolitan King Street, DENDY NEWTOWN offers ten state-of-the-art cinemas in stylish comfort and surroundings. Showing the latest and best in quality film releases, DENDY NEWTOWN offers a world of appreciation for finer cinema goers. Our cinemas offer a range of different capacities – from the very large, seating a maximum of 200 people; to the more intimate, seating up to 45, as well a Lounge cinema with in-cinema service and 32 extra-wide leather seats We are a fully licensed venue with a foyer space with standing room for up to 80 people.
We can provide:
Your choice of the latest in blockbuster and art house film,
as well as older films and classics (subject to availability) on
the big screen.
Option to screen additional content before the film,
incorporating short films, audio-visual presentations,
introductions and discussions (subject to programming
requirements).
A range of discounted candy bar items available for private
cinema hire and group bookings.
A range of beverage options including local and imported
beers and wines, as well as soft drink and juice.
Large business class seating in our Traditional Cinemas
available for private functions of 45 – 200 guests.
Tiered seating in all cinemas with disabled access to the
entire complex and accessible seats in each cinema.
The internal mezzanine may be available for use at your
event, please ask the Events Manager for more information.

subject to date, time & hirer requirements. Premiums may be charged during peak
business periods, within a film’s opening week, pre or post-release screenings
entirely at the discretion of the distributor. Hire rates are inclusive of the use of all

The DENDY LOUNGE seats up to 32 people in
total comfort and features extra wide leather
seats and adjustable foot rests. Personal tables
allow your guests to enjoy their food or drink or
while they watch the film.
DENDY Hire of the DENDY LOUNGE also includes the
LOUNGE use of an exclusive bar – perfect for your guests
to meet and mingle before the film. Here they
can enjoy food from our seasonal gourmet bar
menu, expertly matched with a selection of local
and international beer and wine. It’s the perfect
EXCLUSIVE environment to entertain guests.

LAPTOP
PC and Mac laptops are both welcome, we recommend that you use a laptop with a high processing speed
and an HDMI output for best results. Laptop not provided by Dendy.
DCP
Our preferred screening format is DCP, and we request that you provide all screening content to us in that
format where possible (excluding corporate presentations which may use a laptop). All screening material
must be provided 2 weeks in advance.

Hire rates are based on an average cinema session (approximately 2.5 hours) and hire is subject
to date, time, programming & hirer requirements. Films can be selected from current release titles
screening at the venue. Certain film titles that are no longer in season may also be available for
cinema hire screenings – please let the Sydney Events Manager know if you have a title in mind
and we can investigate whether we may be able to acquire the screening rights for the session.
Premiums may be charged during peak business periods, within a films opening week, pre-release
screenings or for films no longer in season.
Hire rates are inclusive of the use of all existing (on site) technical equipment. Cinema hire
rates include the screening of the film only and additional projection requirements may incur an
additional charge.
Cinema hire rate excludes marketing or promotional support as well as ticket management through
our box office and/or online. These services are not offered for cinema hire events. Whilst no
deposit will be required, cinema hire fee must be paid in full prior to the screening. Cinema hire
rates may be negotiable in exchange for an appropriate contra arrangement – please contact the
Sydney Events Manager to further discuss.
Upon receiving confirmation that hirer wishes to proceed with a booking, the Events Manager will
prepare and send a Venue Hire Agreement to confirm the details and terms and conditions of the
booking. The booking remains unconfirmed until a signed copy of this agreement is returned to
DENDY CINEMAS.
