United Nations voting record South Africa has joined China and Russia in voting against a United Nations (UN) resolution on the “promotion, protection and enjoyment of human rights on the internet”. In a vote that surprised many, the South African delegation to the United Nations abstained on a key vote in the UN Human Rights Council to appoint an independent watchdog on sexual orientation. KIDNAPPING - Kidnapping in South Africa is a common in the country with over 4100 occurring in the 2013/2014 period, and a child going missing every five hours.
