In his first in-depth television industry keynote, David Beckham will talk about
launching his own production company, his global ambitions for Studio 99, and

Premier League, World War Shoe, a documentary mini-series charting the
untold story behind sports brands Adidas and Puma, and the upcoming
definitive David Beckham biopic.

SDG Award honours media companies for their action and
contribution to delivering the Sustainable Development Goals.
Paul Buccieri, President of A+E Networks, will be presented
with the award on Thursday 15 April, in a dedicated online event
featuring stars from A+E Networks as well as the UN’s Under-
Secretary-General for Global Communications, Melissa Fleming.
The award recognises A+E Network’s long-standing commitment to reducing inequality, promoting diversity and inclusion and
fearlessly bringing controversial topics to the table like sexism, racism, violence against women through a wide range of

Executive Producer, “The Crown’
Founder and CEO of Orchid Pictures
Executive producer of Netflix hit series The Crown, Suzanne
Mackie, will give a keynote where she will talk about her new
production venture, Orchid Pictures. During her keynote she will
receive the Variety International Achievement in TV Award.
The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated
leadership and innovation in the international television
marketplace.
In 2020, Mackie departed The Crown producer Left Bank Pictures after 12 years to set up her own independent production
company, Orchid Pictures. She remained on The Crown as one of the executive producers.
Mackie was an architect of The Crown’s success on Netflix, playing a key part in shepherding the Golden Globe-winning
show’s first four seasons.

On the occasion of receiving the International Formats Gold
Award, Ed Waller talks to Anette Romer, Formats Consultant for
STV Production, about her distinguished career in formats and the
challenge yet to come.
This year’s International Formats Gold Award will mark the
achievements of Anette Rømer, former head of acquisitions and
formats at TV2 in Denmark and current programming consultant at
STV Productions..
Anette led the way in defining the output of TV2’s portfolio of channels over her 30-year career with the broadcaster. In her
previous role as commissioning editor of entertainment for TV2, she was also executive producer of a wide range of quiz,
satire, lifestyle, factual entertainment shows, music and events.
The session will be presented on Thursday 15 April at 17.00 CEST in association with C21, FRAPA and EMC, and will be

DISCOVERY - MIPDRAMA
MIPDRAMA Friday 9 April
MIPDrama is the annual premium showcase of the most anticipated high-end drama series (all genres),
providing international buyers an exclusive first look at a curated selection of upcoming drama series at
early-stage of production. MIPDrama will be hosted by French actress, comedian and singer Joséphine
Draï, recently starring in French Netflix hit Plan Coeur, who will introduce 10-minute long exclusive
previews of 11 upcoming series, each selected for their writing and production values, originality, and their
worldwide appeal.
The 6th edition of this unique event is open to all registered buyers and will take place online on Friday 9 April 2021 (12.30
CEST). The showcase will then be available on Digital MIPTV’s catch up service until 16 April. After the screenings, participating
buyers will be invited to vote for their “Coup de Cœur”, with the winner being revealed online on Friday 16 April.
