Eating fish makes children smarter A recent study found that eating fish improves cognitive ability in children A study carried out by researchers at the University of Philadelphia’s medical school in the US found that frequent fish intake was associated with fewer sleep problems and higher IQ scores. In this study, 541 Chinese schoolchildren were followed, with sleeping quality assessed from the ages of 9-11 years and IQ scores at the age of 12. A dose-response relationship indicated higher IQ scores in children eating fish 2-3 times per month or more often compared to children eating fish less than 2 times per month or not eating fish at all.
