The Past Two Months…What Have We Learned? • We will return to Beauvoir, with unexpected gifts in hand. • Beauvoir’s expertise in meeting the unique needs of the young child is superior and has been evident in our nimble and child-centered remote learning approach. • Our community has found strength in supporting one another. • Our children are some of our best teachers. • Flexibility, trust, and optimism are key ingredients to success. • Family preferences for the virtual learning experience are varied and unique, and each one deserves our understanding. • Our children are expressing themselves in a myriad of ways that may be new and unexpected, requiring our loving attention. • Parents and caregivers need support during this time as much as our children. • Beauvoir cares.
Summer Learning @ Beauvoir • June 15 – July 2 virtual lessons for PK-3rd grade students led by Beauvoir teachers. Registration is now closed, and Beauvoir families must now put their names on a waiting list to see if space becomes available. • Participation is optional however families must commit to the full three weeks. • Lessons will be both synchronous and asynchronous. • Asynchronous lessons will be available to all Beauvoir families, regardless of participation in the June program. • Beauvoir Summer Program will not be hosting on-site programs. Stay tuned for virtual July summer offerings to be released soon.
Student Belongings • Time will be designated in August for families to pick up student belongings. • Families relocating out of the area should contact Cindi Gibbs-Wilborn to make summer arrangements. • Families needing to pick up medication should contact Mrs. Brinckerhoff or Mrs. Pittman to make alternative arrangements.
Faculty and Staff Belongings • Effective immediately, no more building entries for faculty and staff given various building projects and cleaning protocols taking place. • Designated time on June 9th for departing faculty and staff to retrieve belongings and to check out (technology, keys, Human Resources paperwork) • Designated time in August for returning faculty and staff to retrieve remaining belongings. • Special circumstances should contact Cindi and direct supervisor.
Returning to Beauvoir We are presently planning to open Beauvoir’s doors the week after Labor Day for students but will certainly keep families informed of any changes. Over the summer, various mitigation steps will be taken to ensure a safe return: • Health reviews and consultations with school nurses and medical experts • Global risk assessment and audit by outside experts • Review and update of pandemic safety planning protocols • Installation of handwashing stations • Deep cleaning of all surfaces and materials • Crisis team contingency planning (Beauvoir and PECF) • Assessment of current emergency supplies and purchase of new safety supplies, as required
3rd Grade Outplacement Updates 1. We will be graduating a class of 77 students (38 girls/39 boys). 2. All students have been successfully placed in good fit schools. 3. Multifaceted outplacement team creates strong partnerships with schools and families. 4. Outplacement process for current 2nd grade families is currently in progress. 5. Student Share Day is May 20.
