| PRESIDENT’S LETTER Dear Member, UMMER IS UPON US and we can’t wait until you see what we have in store for you! In addition to our annual summer holiday celebrations along with our golf and tennis events, we have a lot more coming your way! We’re keeping the fun going—all year long! Trivia Nights, Bingo (yes, Bingo!), Dueling Pianos, Lectures, a dinner show or two and an afternoon with Medium Jeffrey Wands. Stay tuned, as we find opportunities to add more new events and activities throughout the summer months, we will share the news. As our tradition continues we hope you’ll join us in Grand Central for the first two horse races; The Kentucky Derby on May 4, The Preakness on May 18 and then in Onyx Lounge for The Belmont Stakes on June 8. Stop by to watch the race while enjoying specially priced cocktails. I look forward to seeing all of you Moms at the Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch on Sunday, May 12 in Panache where we will be pampering each and every one of you. Reservations are still available by calling 483-6300. Chef Roger has a special menu planned— one you’ll not want to miss. However, whether you spend it here or elsewhere, I hope you enjoy your special day surrounded by family and friends. Our summer guest policies in the golf, tennis, fitness and aquatics departments go into full swing this month! For complete details, please check the Club’s website, contact the individual department or speak with a staff member in the Membership department and they will be happy to review them with you. On a final note, a big CONGRATULATIONS to our Director of Tennis, John Joyce, who was recently named the 2019 Sportsman of the Year for the Palm Beach County Grand Slam Tennis League. Please join me in giving John a huge pat on the back the next time you see him. He continues to do a fantastic job at the Club as well as for the local community. I receive complimentary letters from members quite often but one recent letter really stood out and has stuck with me. It was about our staff. How great the staff is, especially toward his wife who recently injured herself. The employees go out of their way to assist her with whatever she may need while having difficulties getting around; that has given he and his wife such comfort during a somewhat trying time. It’s wonderful to hear that the staff is always so accommodating and this letter reminded me that our most important amenity is our STAFF. How they make you feel while you’re here at the Club. It’s not always about what I/we say or what I/we do—for the membership – it’s all about how we make YOU the member feel because that “feeling” is everything! I welcome and encourage your thoughts, comments and suggestions regarding your Club and look forward to seeing you around! Sincerely, Matthew Linderman, CCM President, COO & General Manager B O C A W E S T 3
