6 ***From the Chief Operating Officer*** Dear Residents, At the October board meeting, changes were made to our parking regulations. Copies of the revisions are available at the front desk and can be found on our website www.losprados-golf.com under the community corner section. We are in the process of resolving the noise issue in the restaurant. In fact, by the time you read this we should have acoustical treatment installed to help the problem. The golf course fencing project continues. The masonry work is going well and the iron fencing replacement is underway. Please trim back any landscaping and remove any decorative ornaments. We will post a notice at your residence letting those impacted by the change when they are reaching your village. Please feel free to contact the front desk should you have any questions. ***REMINDER*** Please make your reservations early for New Year’s Eve as this event is always a sell-out. As always, thank you for your continued support and feedback. Cordially, Margaret Thayer Chief Operating Officer ***President’s Column*** We are heading into our holiday season and the remodeling of the club house and restaurant is almost complete. We are having an acoustical company look into the noise factor of the bar. Hopefully in a couple of weeks this will be completed. The sales for both the restaurant and the golf course/shop has been very positive since the completion. We need to patronize both the golf course/shop and restaurant. The golf course fencing is now in full force and we have had a lot of compliments. This should be completed in the upcoming weeks. Thanks to everyone for their cooperation in this process. We had a meeting concerning the detention basin with the committee and a lot of discussion has to be ironed out. We will be discussing this matter in the next sched- uled board meeting on December 20, 2016. I would like to thank everyone that served on this committee for their hard work and dedication. Ed Ujifusa President HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Treasurers Report 7 Overall October performed very close to budget. Revenues for each department behaved as they have throughout the fiscal year; up $4,000 in the general category (Administration, Loop Road, Maintenance and Security) due to accrued fines and fees that we do not budget for, Golf off $7,000 compared to the budget and $3,000 less than a year ago, F&B up $11,000 compared to the budget and $19,000 better than a year ago. Expenditures showed great variations from the budget amounts primarily because the months that contain three payrolls changes from year to year and I did not consider that in estimating amounts for each month-year to date comparisons are more valid and I will comment further on them. Expenses in the general category are about $17,000 less than budgeted because anticipated increases in health insurance costs and electricity costs did not materialize. Expenses in golf are about $93,000 less than budgeted largely due to health insurance, electricity, vacancies on the golf maintenance staff and the cost of goods in the pro shop. In F&B costs are up about $27,000 primarily in wages and cost of goods-both predictable with the increase in business. For the first eight months of the fiscal year we are about $92,000 better than a budget that planned to lose about $77,000 for the entire year. Since more than a third of that $92,000 is in unbudgeted fees and fines (which we may not actually collect), I’d say we are pretty much on target. Aged Owner Balances are up solely due to violation fines, Available Cash balances dipped slightly, and the Reserve Account balance declined as expected to about $2,800,000. 17-18 BUDGET While Margaret and I have the outline of a budget for next year pretty well completed, revisions may be made following an open budget session on December 13 th. The Board will vote on December 20, 2016 on a total budget to be presented to the homeowners for their approval. The draft budget as it exists now calls for no change in the monthly assessments; they will remain at $170.00 per month. The same is true of the support for Golf and for F&B-no change. A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS 2017 TO ALL!! Pat Calnon

20 From The Dust Devils Car Club It's with a very, very heavy heart that the Los Prados Dust Devils relay the loss of our be- loved President and leader Marvin Benat on October 29, 2016. He had been battling cancer for many months. Marv was truly one in a million. He was easily the nicest person you could ever meet. He was a devoted husband, dedicated volunteer, a pharmacist by profession and a master me- chanic as well. Quiet and unassuming, Marv touched many lives. You might know him from his early morn- ing dog walks. If you ever attended one of our annual LPDD car shows then you had the chance to see Marvin's restored 1954 Ford sedan. His father bought it new in late '53. In recent years Marv brought it back to life with some unique customizing, new paint, a late model V-8 engine (with air conditioning), and a special interior stitched up by his wife Martha. To say that he will be missed is a gross understatement. Farewell 'ole buddy. May your ride be sunny, the road ahead smooth, and your destination a place of everlasting happiness. FROM BOB THE MAILMAN Bob the Mailman advises locked mailboxes. Bob the Mailman would like residents to put trashcans on either side of the mailboxes. The trashcans are blocking the mailboxes making the delivery of mail - undeliverable. Thank you. [5712 Colwood] Bob the Mailman advises not to leave your mail in the mailbox overnight. Theft of mail has been reported.

Notes from the Los Prados Golf Association (LPGA) 25 November 2016 HAPPY HOLIDAYS The Association board voted to approve a policy of no five-member groups prior to 10:00 a.m. daily effective on 1 January 2017 to help regulate speed of play. No doubt there will be exceptions to the policy depending upon various course conditions. Exceptions may only be approved by the Director of Golf. NEWS FLASH: The plastic containers of sand commonly found on golf carts and tee boxes are NOT, repeat NOT, decorator items. Please use them to fill and smooth divots on the tees and fairways.
