Principal’s Message Dr. Mona Kelshikar Welcome to H L College of Commerce, one of the finest institutions of commerce studies in Gujarat, established in 1936. HL was founded with a vision to impart the best instruction with the most innovative techniques, to bridge the gap between reading, understanding and assimilation. The HL faculty and administrative staff is perfectly equipped to nurture, encourage and support students realize their potential and put some wind under their wings. HL has been constantly endeavouring to empower students to take on future challenges through emphasis on efficient teaching, discipline and diligence, inculcation of values and exposure to refinement. The College brings together a fine blend of resources like impressive infrastructure, excellent academic inputs, enriching cultural and sports activities for personal growth and development of leadership qualities and team spirit. Mission, Vision, and Goals Mission H L College of Commerce strives to widen the knowledge horizons of commerce students beyond boundaries to lead them to be in tune with tomorrow so as to contribute the best in the economic and cultural empowerment of the nation. It aims to further hone the students’ intellectual acumen, personal discipline and moral conviction. Vision Statement We are committed to be among top 25 Commerce colleges in India by 2025 by further empowering the environment for holistic development at HLCC that leads students through an academic journey that hones their intellect, stimulates them to think creatively, enables character building, develops social commitment, leading to successful careers and model citizens of India. Goals To expose students to stimulating learning situations inside the classrooms for continuous academic growth, development and achievement of excellence. To create a dynamic campus climate to help students to adapt to the changing contemporary trends for better career opportunities To provide a valuable college experience to enhance articulation, self- understanding, co-existence and cultural sensitivity. B++ ….. a Mark of Quality ….. by NAAC (UGC) HLCC is among the few select colleges at the All-India Level having the special identity of being Accredited with ‘A+’ grade in 2005, re-accredited with ‘A’ grade in 2012 and re-accredited with ‘B++’ grade in 2019 by NAAC (UGC). These benchmarks confirm the attributes of HLCC as an Institution of Calibre. These ratings also ensure better employability in the competitive job market which has been evident from two generations of HL Alumni enjoying pinnacles of success. Facilities Campus A sprawling green campus with a vast area for various games and sports, a large open HL Plaza with a permanent stage equipped with a Public Address system where various programmes can be hosted, an elegant building, and an overall atmosphere that is conducive to learning, are the unique features of the H. L. Campus. Lecture-Halls Well ventilated, lighted and spacious class rooms equipped with class-room broadcast system to facilitate easy interaction between teachers and students. All Lecture-Halls equipped with audio-video facility for teaching. Library An open access library for independent browsing and a spacious, well lighted and air-cooled reading room. Collection of over 45,000 books and more than 50 national and international journals, periodicals and magazines. Free Wi-Fi facility Locker facility available Digital English Language Lab (DELL): 24 consoles connected with a server for independent practice under the expert guidance for English language proficiency development for effective speaking, listening, reading and writing.
